View Full Version : Best Budokai
I know most of you will say Budokai 3. But which Budokai's have better qualities in certain catergories?
Best Graphics: Budokai 3- Improvement on the Cel shading
Best Characters: Budokai 1- Zarbon, Android 19 and better costumes
Best Voice Acting: Budokai 1 (If I understood Japanese) otherwise Budokai 3
Best Arenas: Budokai 1- More destructive than the others
Best Story: Budokai 1- Frieza getting his wish is funny
Best Extras: Budokai 2- Babidi's Spaceship was a great extra
Best Overall: Budokai 3- More fluid fighting and better fighting engine.

Graphics: Budokai 3 The cell shading is great, when full powered Super saiyan 3 with a massive aura, let it sink in.
Characters: Budokai 3 Including Broly and Bardock (among others) was a great move, plus the characters are more unique than before (bar Dragonrush)
Voice Acting: Budokai 3 Collector's Edition The ability to pick between English and Japanese, sweet. (Y@mcha means Uk Budokai, US budokai had English Voice acting)
Arenas: Budokai Kami's Lookout, Cell Games arena, falling off the Lookout. Yay!
Extras: Budokai 2 Agreed, Babidi's Spaceship was a great extra.
Fighting System: Budokai 3 Teleporting was great, let down by the Hyper Mode and Items. ( DragonRush included)
Intro: Budokai 3 Barely beating Budokai 2's, the grand music and the animation going so well with it is great.
Menus: Budokai 3 More detailed background pictures, amazing picture for the START screen and the moving car with Goku's voice betas the first games.
Bu Do Kai 3 without a doubt, improved cel-shading and Super Saiyan 4 kicks so much ***. Shame most of the characters only have about two attacks though, making the Breakthough capsule almost useless with these characters.
Bu Do Kai 2 is just an improvement over the original, though more addictive. But I prefer the original over the first sequel, plus the subtitles are hilarious!
"I waited for them and they refused to fight me... The MEANIES!" Doesn't take much to upset you Vegeta does it?
"Oh, you aunt sallies!" WTF?

Even though it's not part of the Budokai Trilogy, Budokai Tenkaichi has the best graphics, intro, voice acting and characters. Though I haven't played it yet I'd say the best fight system too.
If you disagree with me, then you are an Aunt Sally indeed!

Well Atari is trying to make it part of the trilogy, hence the poor title (why couldn't they just have kept Sparking! ? ><).

Or Maybe just leave the Budokai Title. (Like, Budokai 4)
Sparking would have been a great title.
Tenkaichi sounds too much like one of those "Other" Games.
Like, Dragonball Z: taiketsu, They could've called it: Dragonball Z: Fight Arena or something like that.

Tai Ket Su means challenge, all of the previous Dragonball fighting games had Japanese titles, Fight Arena would just sound generic. The name Sparking! is because of one of the lyrics in the CHA-LA HEAD CHA-LA song (please tell me you know what that is).

The last word in HEAD CHALA is the word Sparking!, I realised that ages ago. It can never be part of the Budokai Trilogy, it was created by diffrent companies.
They decided to call it Budokai Tenkaichi as they thought it would sound better than Sparking! Simple as.

There's one thing though....
The title should have been Tenkaichi budokai, which roughly translates has Best under the heavens tournament.
Budokai Tenkaichi means: Tournament best under the heavens WTH!?
Those Aunt Sally's and their game titles! MEANIES!!

lolblue: I think that if you kepted all the people off of DBZ B2 and their moves, but keep all the graphics, story mode etc off of DBZ B3, you'll have a good game
