madred: I've got the same problem. First appears at start of install when installing actors file. I can delete it and click ignore but then will the file still install? But if I do that even more files pop up saying that they are infected! Please help... Really want to start playing! :hin:
 what the hell is going with atari sending out this game. with a Virus natas.mp in it. I turned off mcafee Virusscan 9.0v 2005 ActiveShield to install the game. it istall fine. but then run mcafee Virusscan and it found this lot
in
c:\program files\atari\the matrix -path of neo\actors\wm_wooden.dcn_11
c:\program files\atari\the matrix -path of neo\actors\wm_karana_a_bw_11
c:\program files\atari\the matrix -path of neo\actors\wm_katana_a_dcn_11
c:\program files\atari\the matrix -path of neo\actors\wm_ghost_sword.dcn_11
c:\ P F \atari\the matrix -path of neo\actors\rpg_wm_katana_a.dcn_11
virus natas.mp
so then delete them aftar mcafee had finshed. i will see if the game will run with these files gone. and if you are having the same problems you all need to tell atari this is not good enough. and what they are going to do about it

** McAfee virus scanner triggers warning when installing The Matrix: Path of Neo***
There is a known issue with some versions of McAfee virus scanning software, where the virus scanner incorrectly tags some installed files as a virus called natas.mp from 1994. This is a "false positive" result -- all files installed by The Matrix: Path of Neo are safe to use.
We recommend either disabling McAfee virus scanner before installing The Matrix: Path of Neo, or following these steps during the installation process:
1) When the McAfee software issues a warning, click "Continue what I was doing."
2) Click "Yes" to continue the installation.
3) Click "Ignore" to continue the installation.

Hi,
We believe it is an issue with McAfee's virus definitions.
1. Start McAfee Security Center
2. Disable Virus-Scan
3. Start Installation of PoN
4. Enable virus-scan after installation
Best Regards
it is mcafee`s giving a false reading
so it looks to be ok ? lets hope so
& thank you mloppin for you input

i think you need to be a bit calmer with your responses, ya'll knew atari couldnt send out DVDs with viruses in them.. how about asking first, and not accusing Atari of messing up.
in this day and age there are so many viruses and there are a select few who think it is good fun to mess with things like this. if you care to read all my entries you will see that i have explained as i found out new information. I dont think anyone is paniking. its not my fault i sent atari an e mail in the morning and didnt get a reply untill the evening. but it is a bit scarey when you buy games and think you have a virus. 10sur10 mdr1

I can understand your alarm, but you would only get viruses if you download dodgy programs and *****. theres absolutly no chance you would get a virus from a brand new game. :)
