Hi guys,
I bought PoN, and l've only managed to play it once! Emailed Atari but they've not replied yet, no doubt because its the weekend!!!
Ok, so i install the game ok. When it comes to playing it, an error comes up after the mouse turns to a CD and says "Original disc not found or authenticated" or something like that. I have no clonecd or daemon or anything like that, so why isn't it working?
Hope someone can help me please. What i did get to play was good :)
Thanks in advance.

Your best bet is to return it and exchange it for another copy from whomever you purchased it. Sometimes there's dodgy copies of games that come out its just unfortunate you were on the end of one.
However thats my theory, I may be wrong.

Ok l've changed the CD and it still says the same thing from a new install! Anyone else got any ideas? :mefiant:
Yes, remove the CD/DVD from your player. Put it again, open the CD/DVD, wait till the player search on the CD then hit the PoN icon. It works 1/2 times, but it does for me.
Sorry for dummy english, french here ;) Hope you understood.
Ill explain it again, go to the CD/DVD folder before launching the game, it will force the CD/DVD to be read.

Do you have another drive you can load it from? :mefiant:

No, l've just got the one DVD+/-RW drive. I've got it working now, but with Alcohol 120%, Stop.S7 and a downloaded msf file! Not the original CD. How **** is that.
Hope they sort it out with a patch, or is it just my computer? weirdblue
If you can help me to get it working on my original disc, then please go ahead :)

please....
I have the same problem. The first time I installed the game it worked, I went about changing the res and the game shut it self down and I started it again only to find that it would not boot. I get a box saying " unable to authenticate original disc within time limit try again" I have the option yes or cancel if I hit YES it gives the same message after 2 mins if I hit cancel I get the same message a second later. I thought it maybe a bug with changing the res so I unistalled the game and installed it again. Again the first boot after installing the game and everything is fine and I played the game this time. Once again however after trying to reboot the game for a second time the game will not work.
I have to admit right now I am very dissapointed that I have paid good money for a game I have been eager to play and now I am unable to play it because it is clearly a bug. I can understand that some beta testing is done when a piece of software goes on release. I understand that time to time for almost every game released that I would have to download a patch. BUT I dont think I really believe that a software come think that it is acceptable to release and charge good money for a piece of software that wont even LOAD.
I hope this issue is resolved shortly, as it was a choice between this and battlefront2 and I may have to exchange my copy.
Thanks in advance if anyone can give me any advice on how to resolve my issues.

AS i say, for now the only way l've got it going is to use the downloaded image file, Stop.S7 and Alcohol 120%. Until they release a patch l will do this!
Btw, l've got Battlefront 2 too, VERY good game ;)

I know alcohol120% is a virtual drive software ( which I know how to use, but what is stop.s7? also what are you mounting? an iso file?
thanks so far

ah, sorry its SR7.Stop, it stops the protection software from finding your virtual drive. I got it all from somewhere............pm me for the address....... and it tells you how to do it there.
