Anyone? I would really like to play the game i just spent a fifty for...
what about giving us you system specs :?)

Well the only thing that could prove any problems could be my 1,4 ghz thunderbird, but its not that big a difference with the minimums... I really dont think thats it, further my specs are:
512 mb ram
Gfx 5200
Ive played other games with this cpu, and seeing that Path of neo is considered "ugly" graphics wise i dont think my cpu will form any problem with running it.
even with big PC specs we do have problems, so your 1.4 probably isnt suffisent mixed with your video card.
But I tested it on 1.7Ghz Pentium M with 512 RAM and x600, its fluent at 1280*1024.. dont know about your problem.
Did u try reinstall it ?

It shows a black screen, white screen, then the green matrix number/letters for like a second and then it goes back to desktop. Maybe i forgot to install a codec or something?
Yes i tried reinstalling, this really dissapoints me you know. I took Black and White 2 back like many others because i couldnt even get past the splash screen... now this. And the splash screen problem happens to people with 2.5 ghz cpu's so dont say its my specs again ;) So... so dissapointing, truly like gamespots review of the game.

ive been having the exact same problem , haven`t got a clue wats wrong with it any ideas would be good
its always good to know what spec your running on, even if this isnt teh problem !
Can't help you anymore, but try reinstall DX 9.0c, graphic drivers.
If you have the US version you can install the patch, if not we do have to wait for teh European one rolleyesa

2.0 amd
1024 ram
128 geforce 5200
ive reinstalled all drivers and updated the graphics card driver , and the sound card . this bit annoying dont fancy havin to wait for a patch that tbh i very much doubt will fix this problem. as far as i know a bin file is for burning cds ( cue and bin files)
The matrix3w32s.bin file seems to be the validator to be sure you bought it and have the right CD/DVD installed, not sure of that.
I had problems with that file too, i needed to get out DVD from player, and insert it again and wait for the drive read the DVD before launching/install game.

The minimum specs do, quite clearly, say :
Video: Nvidia GeForce FX 5700 or ATI Radeon 9500 or greaterI have a Radeon 8500, I haven't even wasted my time seeing if it will run, rolleyesa
The game used DirectX 9c effects that aren't avaliable on graphics cards that don't support it.
Sorry.

I have the same problem. Hopefully the dev team can find a fix for this problem.
My comp spec is:
Operating System Windows XP
AMD Athlon 2.41 GHz
Memory 1.00 GB RAM
Hard Disk Space 69.5 GB free
DVD-ROM Drive 8X
NVIDIA GeForce™ 6600
calm down Max, try searching by your own, we dont have all the answers and we are not at your service.. :)
Try setting for example in the MatrixConfig.Ini file graphics to 2 or 1.

I tried that already, thanks for trying. And the game has just been released, i tried googling but i couldnt come up with anything.
Max - may not make any difference at all, but can add the matrix3.exe into your firewall's program control (I would allow it to launch other programs, but any other access settings are up to you) and see if it makes any difference? It may not, but just a thought...
PS - What is your sound card (or onboard), and have you changed the config file so it is not read only? The more info the better in situations like these...

A Soundblaster Live! card, there isnt much more to know about my pc...
its just weird because i dont even get an error message, it just crashes to desktop without any warning. I can see the things moving but then the screen goes black and returns to desktop. Sometimes i hear a sound too, most of the times i dont.
I never get any further than that.

Could that be it? I indeed have a router but really, why would a singleplayer game be ****ing up because of my router...
Did you try it? Did it work?

I have just got mine going again, some reason it doesnt like McAfee. I uninstalled the game and re-installed with McAfee Virus Scan Disabled. And my game didn't crash. So if your running a virus scanner I suggest trying to re-installing with it disabled. Good Luck.

just thought id post this, it does say that it requires a 9500+ graphics card, but understudy i have an 8500 on one of my laptops, and it still runs on there, theres a download you can get than enables direct x 9c and once thats on there its fine.
and as for you max, it sounds to me like its graphics card issues, you can get a cheapish graphics card that will run it perfectly for about £60, but its probably worth upgrading your pc after seeing the spec you gave. after working in a shop for the last few months, ive noticed a few people coming in saying a game wont run a disc wont read. if youre a keen gamer, and you sound like one, updating now is probably the best time because the market is so cheap. you can get a top of the range 64bit system now for about 650/700 pounds, so its worth saving those pennies and buying a super system that will play games the like of FEAR and Quake 4. you probably could get the path of neo to work on your pc with some tinkering, but the experience would probably make you hate the game even more :D
(ps - try updating your graphics card, sound card, and mobo drivers, might make a slight difference)

European patch is now in testing (I hear there were some troubles with the US patch which caused more problems than it fixed).... Pray they test it better than they appear to have tested the original game release weirdblue
I have the PC box in front of me now, and it says:
System Requirements
Operating System: Windows 2000/XP
Processor: Pentium 2 GHz or AMD Athlon 2GHz or better
Memory: 512 Mb RAM
Hard Disk Space: 6GB Free
DVD Rom Drive: 6x speed or faster
Video: nVidia GeForce 5700 or ATI Radeon 9500 or greater *
Sound DirectX version 9.0c-compatible sound card
DirectX: DirectX version 9.0c (included) or higher
* Hardware T&L video cards that do not support shaders, such as the GeForce 4 MX or Intel Extreme Graphics family, are not supported

Perhaps but those specs have been confirmed to me today as "official system requirements" from Atari.
I'm not happy at all, that of all the online game stores I could find last night (searched over 10), only 2 of them had any recommended specs listed, and both of these differed from those on the box. weirdblue
How on earth are people supposed to buy a game without having a clue if it will even pretend to run on their system. :mefiant:

Good: I got past the intro when i patched my game, i could hear some music but my screen stayed black.
Bad: Screen stays black and the game crashes with the matrix*****.bin exe.

Same, sometimes it just stops on the black screen. My processes show that the program is activated and hasnt crashed or anything.
I find it weird that i CAN see the green things moving, its nicely made, i hear music for a moment and then the green things stop and the screen goes black as like its trying to load something else but it doesnt.
