hey all, i bought the path of neo a few days ago and although it does have some issues i still think its an awesome game, its about time that a company bought out a matrix game where you can play as neo, the matrix online and enter the matrix were good, but lacked the "one" factor :)
anyway, i know that a few of you have been having trouble with the fact that the matrix starts two processes, matrix3.exe and the matrix .bin process. when i started my game i had the error saying "failed to launch security module, apllication start fail" and i spent hours trying new ways of getting it to work. i uninstalled, reinstalled, read forums and everything, even emailed atari (who still, 3 days later havent replied). i was just about to give up and take it back when by luck i went into the directory its stored at (C:/program files/atari/path of neo) and double clicked matrix3.exe. for some reason it boots perfectly from there and not the shortcut on desktop, i made a shortcut from the matrix3.exe file and that works fine. just thought id post it on here incase some of you had the same issues.
i work with computers for a living so if any of you have any problems, please let me know and ill try and help as much as i can. im no moderator on this forum but i like to try and help a gaming community, especially one that seems to have as many issues as this one does!
All input welcomed cubesboy............. 10sur10

u dnt run the .bin file, u run matrix3.exe and it loads fine that way. it might be your dvd drive as well, ive read on other forums that people are having trouble with their drives...hope that helps
yes, could be a speed problem with your driver, especially if you do have the DVD version, wich require a minimum 6x drive to run correctly SR7 tonguegre

in the matrix directory (C:/program files etc) theres an icon in there for matrix3.exe, because for some reason when the game runs it runs a .bin file and a .exe in the processes section. i had that issue about a security module and got so annoyed, i made sure there was nothing running in the task manager, and ran matrix3.exe and it ran fine

cubesboy - Mabye you could look at the keys error. Whenever I have set the keys and exits the game. The keys are reset every time I load the game.

yeah they reset each time, not entirely sure why, there might be a command line you can add to matrix3.cfg but i dont know if that will work. they will probably bring out a patch that will fix that problem, because a lot of people have complained about that
Hey guys thanks for the advice on the problem with security modules although none of them seemed to work for me :(.
However i was messing around with different setting and found that if you select the exe file for path of neo then go to properties then compatability then make sure the run in 256 colours and the run in 640 mode boxes are both checked it boots up.
Id be interested to know if this works for anyone else who has had problems with this my e-mail is davecurrin@hotmail.com
thanks

Hi guys. I also just recently bought this game thinking of it being so cool and all. The price was pretty reasonable as well. But then I think I end up spending more than I bargained for just for that game.
Its somehow weird the game was working well before but recently I have been getting the error mentioned in the title whenever I start up the game. I dont have Mcafee installed in my com(as it was stated Mcafee program) caused it. And I tried out all the suggested made by the other people in the fourm. Unfortunately I keep having this same problem. Even after reinstalling the game.
About my computer well I just upgraded it to the max
2GB Ram
Pentium 4 3.2GHz
256mb Radeon 9600pro graphics card.
Needless to say that even after upgrading the games ran quite slow(Well atleast the times it did run anyway)
If anyone has a solution to this problem please let me know.
