Church fight - help (spoilers)

Hello

I am currently chasing that security guard up the church where the big bells are. There seems to be an agent that keeps on respawning. I manage to kill him about 3 or 4 times, but he keeps on coming back. There are also swat guards shooting at me. Eventually I die. All the time the guard which I am suppose to rescue just crouches on the floor.

Please advise me on this matter.
