I have just found out after a few weeks of a total nightmare, that I cant play my buddy in America on dragonshard, because the USA and the EURO versions wont connect... WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ALL ABOUT?
SO NOW I HAVE WASTED MY HARD EARNED CASH?? and alot of my time I have reinstalled the game several times, and even went as far as re-installing windows!
I dont wanna play the freaking game single player, as good as it may be!!! I wanna play my buddy!
ATARI You have done a very very bad thing here, its absolute madness, and it needs fixing!
Also there is no Dragonshard forum??? Hmmmz, didnt want the this to get out or something???
I really dont understand why ATARI would make such a move
sheesh

Wow... re-installing Windows? Thats a real pain in the ask.
One thing I can point out is the reason there is no Dragonshard forum is far more likely to have something to do with the fact that your the first user to have even mentioned the game to my knowledge, rather than a supposed 'cover up' :wink2:

Re-installing windows is a pain in the ****, when there was no actual need to do so in the first place!
And ok, on the forum front, point taken. But it still does not excuse the fact that I cannot play somebody in the states. I would ask for a full refund, but as you know, there will be no grounds to get it back from the company I bought it from. Is there any news on a patch, that any staff here know about?

Do you know other people that can play with Americans?

There's a Dragonshard forum on the US boards (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=330)
They also have a link to some patches (http://www.3dgamers.com/games/dragonshard/downloads/). Are you up to date?
AND they have a conectivity F.A.Q. (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=483722)
Hope this helps, I've scaned the US forum, and no-one's complained about this issue before, and you're right, I'd expect a lot of complaints if this was the case... Maybe someone there can help you. :respect:

I cannot play somebody in the states.
I'm looking into this. I should have a reply on whether it's a patch synch problem or not by tomorrow night.
EDIT: Official from Atari QA
"To the best of my knowledge they [the 2 regions] were allowed to play together. I bet they set a version check upon connecting to hosted games, not allowing the two regions to play together."
If this is correct, you will be allowed to play with your mate in the States as soon as the patch is released.
I would really appreciate if you could stick around and let us know that everything is working fine once the patch is out :)

Congratulations for the birth of your daughter! :bravo:
Please bear with me for the Euro patch, my main contact in Atari Europe is currently on holidays and will be back on the 16th Jan, I'll have an answer then :)
Surely there wont be any time for Dragonshard with an infant in the house........ :mefiant:
