hey,

'A required Security Module Cannot be Activated. This program cannot be executed. '

alvast bedankt
grtz

If you have more that one cd/dvd drive, this can happen, try using the other drive.

Also if you have cd/dvd emulators that mount an iso image, then some protection software gets upset, because this software is often used by hackers/crackers... Uninstall the emulators and try again. tup:

Thanks a lot for your help ! I ain't got no CD emulator installed. I got two DVD drivers, but as it is a webdemo, I really don't know how to change that to make it work.

It's some kind of copy protection who makes this game unplayable ? On a demo ? God help us.

exactly, i dont see the why there is a security problem thing.
its a demo...

i cant use another drive cause its an exe file, a demo.

Check for applications like :

Daemon Tools, Clone CD, Alcohol 120 & Paragon CD Rom Emulator.

This really shouldn't be happening for a demo... I can only guess that there's code in there that is picking up on already installed secureRom software from another game.

I've raised this with my contacts in Atari, hopefully, I'll hear back from them soon - note. its 5pm on a Friday afternoon, so that may be next week :noooo:

i HAD deamon tools, but i removed it to make the demo work but, no result.

i gues its still in some dark registerfile somewhere ...

i gues i'll never play the the demo :(

i just have to buy the game without knowing if its good or not

thx for willing to help me.

Ok.. I've heard back already that this has been raised with the production team for crashday. :atari:

Obviously this is not a good demonstration for the game, so they should respond quickly next week. :)

Thanks a lot Understudy. I'm so looking forward to Crashday (and to anything who looks like Burnout on the PC) since the first trailer that I'd would literaly be PAINFULL if I can't play it. (Espacaly if there will be the same trouble with the full game ^^")

Hello Community!

Please be informed that 'Crashday' demo is protected with SecuROM. The error message "A required security module can not be activated" is indeed generated by our technology. This could have different reasons:

1. Emulation tools (e.g. Antiblaxx, Virtual CD Hide, SR7.Stop, or similar) are running (error message "Emulator detected") or there is a virtual drive hidden by one of these tools on your PC. Please deactivate them properly (don't forget to unhide virtual drives before exiting). These tools are mainly designed to circumvent copy control solutions.
You do not need to uninstall these tools; it's enough to disable them during game play. To "unhide" remaining virtual drives, you might need to re-install the appropriate tool.

2. Debugging tools running in the background. Please deactivate them.

3. Infection of your PC by malware or virus.

If you think that none of these reasons are applicable in your case, our support team will be happy to assist you solving occurred anomalies. We ask you to generate a SecuROM analysis file following the instructions below and send it to support@securom.com.

1. Please reboot your computer and do not start any additional applications.
2. "Right-click" (click the right button of your mouse) on the desktop shortcut or actual 'Crashday.exe' executable
3. A dialog menu will appear. Choose "Launch Analysis" from the menu choices.
4. After selecting "Launch Analysis," a disclaimer window will appear.
5. To proceed, please click onto the "Yes" button.
6. The program will now generate an "AnalysisLog.sr0" file within the root of your C:\ directory.
7. Please "zip" (archive) this file (to avoid email corruption) and send it to our official email address support@securom.com together with a description of your problem (e.g. screenshots, further details).

For more information on SecuROM error messages, please visit http://www.securom.com/support_enduser.asp

Works now :D

Wow no wonder Atari's finances are in the ditch,
at least SecuRom are here and helping unlike starfarce
I dont buy games or even download demos with starforce so i came here to check to see if it was another not buy/demo game
and i find copy protection causing PROBLEMS ON A DEMO!!!!!
and isnt even StarFarce
the attitude of uninstall any software that might conflict with your demo is insane!
it just means most will uninstall your DEMO! Not there usefull works all the time sofware
Others like me are wising up and checking for what kind of copyprotection on the DEMO is being used!
before they let it near there machine
Piracy isnt destroying your industry!!!
TREATING YOUR CUSTOMERS AND POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS AS CRIMINALS IS!!!!!
SO FAR THE GAMES I HAVE'NT OR WON'T BUY ARE
GT LEGENDS
GT 2
,X2,X3
SILENT HUNTER 3
TRD3
have got GTR and TRD,TRD2
but won't install em anymore because of starfarce/fade
love GTR by the way....well love, hate cos sf trash's my system very slowly but comprehensively

We buy your games, and want to buy and try these games but we wont be told,
what we can and cannot have on our pc to play!!
other than drivers video,audio,etc
madred: madred: madred: madred:

The reason a lot of people are turning to the no cd community is to get around the problems caused by copy protection! So they can Play the games they have Bought
Are cracked .exe's for demo's the next big thing!!
for Gods Sake Mr Games Industry you are killing us  and in turn that means you as well
Think of the hayday of pc gaming!! there was very little copy protection around then and we went out and bought games because we knew you The Games Industry Cared about your product and your customer!

i'm nearly 40 and been playing games since the early 70's atari was the first name i ever asscociated with video games and have lots of friends in the industry
Not all the money is in the consoles any more,
as new users realise what pc games are capable of ................... think about it..

if you are using secuRom on GTR2 and bring out a version of GTL without starfarce i'll be down the shops soo fast....

sorry i went off topic

"A required security module can not be activated. This program can not be executed".

Same problem here.

In all my years of game demos this is the 1st I have not been able to play. What the hell is this world coming to? Next we'll need securom to turn on our own computers!

I have just scanned and removed Whatever remaining spyware with 2 programs, Uninstalled and removed Virtual drive emulators, daemon tools and alcohol 120, also removed anti-blaxx and sadly 2 games, that used emulators, Motogp3 and MX vs ATV, pretty much everything that could cause this demo not to work is gone. thats how keen i am on getting this demo to work. But Im still not winning. what the hell is the deal, Cant You developers simply make a small patch for the Executable, or something very basic like that??

  madred:  :noooo: dark:

So if I have this trouble with the demo, does that mean the full version will have the same issue? I am not going to buy it if I can't play it. Can someone let me know?? Thanks.
