I have just played the 'Crashday' demo and would like to make a few suggestions if i may?
Being a veteran of the Carmageddon series since day one ('95) i would like to point out some improvemets that would make this game better;

Firstly during the 'wrecking match' part of the demo, i find that the inability to 'lock-on' to an opponent -as in Carmageddon externaly, whereby the camera tracks around your vehicle, 360 degrees, but keeps the selected opponent in vision at all times - hampers your ability to shoot at close quarters. Could you not make a key available to press that cycles lock-on with opponents?

The speed at which the AI opponents notch up kills is far,far too fast! There is no ability to enjoy this part of the game, since by the time you are destroyed and reset (again far too fast 2 hits and your destroyed in my opinion isn't fun), the AI has already had another 1 to 2 kills. Not good. The gulf between first and second is always about 5/6 cars...

Spacial awareness is severily lacking also, may i add. Since you *cannot* look left/right whilst in the vehicle -again in Carmageddon you could do this- it gives you a claustrophobic feeling (tunnel vision). Surely you can make the driver look left/right in the full version???

Lastly a question; will the track editor work for single player or is it only for multiplayer?
If it *is* for single player, will the AI automaticaly know the paths to take on your newly created track?

crashday looks to become an amazing game
will be buying it

that said, I have to agree, the weapons are far too powerful
they do so much damage in such a short space of time you are destroyed before you can enjoy the level, explore and maybe find other things to do damage with.
maybe the weapons should be pickups?
and less powerful

Also I really enjoyed the Tony Hawks style stunt demo, the only strange thing there is the way that car damage doesnt affect peformance in any significant way, after stunts which would really write off a car.

maybe arenas with smaller stunts finishing off with a big finale, would also promote more skilled driving than just Nitro'ing up ramps to score high flying marks with spins, and the odd landing flip award.

In air collisions will no doubt be spectacular, but there should also be some stung chasing, points for tailgating that sort of thing, and of course stunts on the ground such as driving on 2 wheels, and doing 180's etc :)

looking forward to some great multiplayer racing though which I think will be the high point, with great collisions, I hope the realism is good as well, i.e. if a car looses its wheel in a race the you're out!!!

the track editor is always a welcome edition, can we also expect a proper SDK to develop cars from the ground up?

Cheers

I have heard that the xbox 360 usb controller works on a standard pc
it might be worth checking out for your controller needs

Personally I am looking forward to hooking up my FF Wheel :)

yeah but its just the controller, those things apart for extra wobbly bits of plastic are pretty much the same anyway

I dont know if its ok to mention products here, but have you checked out the saitek range of controllers?
they are quite inexpensive and tend to adhere to the most popular designs
