I'm not sure if these forums are still active or not, but i've got a serious problem and it's driving me insane.

Put simply the DVD dosnt work, i insert the DVD and after the briefest of pauses my PC acts as if there is nothing in the DVD tray. I've searched Throuh Start>Run>E:\Setup.exe and it acts as if i havnt inserted a DVD.

I have mnay DVD games (such as BF2 and 'The Movies') and they all work fine, i thought the DVD might be faulty but it works fine on other machines(PC's) so im bamboozled.

can anyone help? i've troied googling the problem for hours (i'm fairly competent at fixing PC's and bugs etc..) but it seems as if i have a unique problem.

MY DVD is a ' _NEC DVD+RW ND-1100A ' and it's drive E: (i'm thinking maybe these could be the source of the problem)

P.S i have a theory that it might have something to do with the copy protection, but it's just a guess

:nono: If your DVD is not original it won't work, also windows losses drives sometime you might need to up date windows drivers for your dvd. :)

10sur10 Some DVD burners as well as cd burners can't read some disk.I have a game that says not to install with cd burner.Have you tried a different drive? I have one that wasn't used much and now has trouble reading some disk.

i'll try and switch drives with my other PC, but if it isnt that then i think it's

SecuROM 7 (the protection on the disk) because while browsing the web i discovered that SecuROM blacklist programs, and as i had alcohol 120% on my machine, theres a posibility that the DVD will never run on my machine again.....

Some standard solutions to SecuROM problems.... :)

1. Emulation tools (e.g. Antiblaxx, Virtual CD Hide, SR7.Stop, or similar) are running (error message "Emulator detected") or there is a virtual drive hidden by one of these tools on your PC. Please deactivate them properly (don't forget to unhide virtual drives before exiting). These tools are mainly designed to circumvent copy control solutions.
You do not need to uninstall these tools; it's enough to disable them during game play. To "unhide" remaining virtual drives, you might need to re-install the appropriate tool.

2. Debugging tools running in the background. Please deactivate them.

3. Infection of your PC by malware or virus.

If you think that none of these reasons are applicable in your case, our support team will be happy to assist you solving occurred anomalies. We ask you to generate a SecuROM analysis file following the instructions below and send it to support@securom.com.

1. Please reboot your computer and do not start any additional applications.
2. "Right-click" (click the right button of your mouse) on the desktop shortcut or actual 'Crashday.exe' executable
3. A dialog menu will appear. Choose "Launch Analysis" from the menu choices.
4. After selecting "Launch Analysis," a disclaimer window will appear.
5. To proceed, please click onto the "Yes" button.
6. The program will now generate an "AnalysisLog.sr0" file within the root of your C:\ directory.
7. Please "zip" (archive) this file (to avoid email corruption) and send it to our official email address support@securom.com together with a description of your problem (e.g. screenshots, further details).
