Installation Problems!!!!

Hi

Anyone have an installation problem with this game. When the installsheild kicks in it returns an error 6001 - Saying to do 1 of 3 things, Close programs, empty Temp dir and check internet connectivity. Obviously I tried them all but no luck!!!! Any ideas?

I'm not entirely sure sorry, :mefiant: but have you checked your RAM, as the minimum needed is 512MB. Sorry I couldn't be of any further assistance. Hopefully if you manage to get around these problems you are experiencing, you'll have loads of fun on it - I have and spent 8 hours on it yesterday! Ordered it on gameplay.co.uk to get it early!

Thanks for the responses. Just had a email back from Atari tech support and they solved the problem :bravo: Below is a cut and copied response just in case anyone else has the same problem.

Extract from Atari Tech support:-

"We believe the error is caused by a previous corrupted install of another product that uses a similar Installshield.

To solve the problem browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional\RunTime and rename the "0701" folder to
"0701 old" and then begin the installation of the game again."

No mate my error was different, have you tried the fix that I was told, you never know it might work!

Thanks London - Tried to use the solution given to you but got no where - I can not even uninstall the game now at all madred: Wait to hear from Atari support have sent a Dxdiag as requested - On another note - Interestinly I see in Computer Shopper (Latest Mag) the game is shown as being avialable at £18 whilst Game are selling it at £34

Atari support were great for me 10sur10 , I hope you have the same luck, didn't fancy a reformat just for one game!
On the price thing, I have decided that pre ordering any title I am waiting on is best, I used Game online and got the game for £27 and it arrived on Thursday being a day before release :bravo:

Did you rename the the 0701 Folder back from old to just 0701? Going on what they said thats where all the install stuff goes on so maybe thats why you cant uninstall. Just a thought.

Another very good site is play.com you can pre-order and get it before release. My brother had a game 3 days before release from there!

Hi mate

Are you running xp service pack 1 or 2? I had it before with a game that it didn't run on sp1 and I upgraded to 2 and it worked a treat!
