View Full Version : Message Involving Ferrari's in the Game
I have been talking to a member of staff at Bizarre Creations and he said:
'It all depends on what liscensing agreement microsoft made with Ferrari, Some companies have exclusive deals with some car manufacturers, but sometimes it is possible to sub liscense access through the owner of the exclusive deal, if all parties are willing and the funds are available.
If the deal between MS and Ferrari is exclusive then the Test Drive people would have to work with MS to get the Ferrari liscense, if it isn't exclusive then they can go to Ferrari direct.
These supercar liscenses can be VERY EXPENSIVE, which is probably why Ferrari have appeared in so few Games.'

So even though this guy has told you that they don't have an exclusive licence, there is a screen shot of a Ferrari already be released, (even though your certain it's a fake :nono: ) there has been a video released that even talks about the Enzo. The fact that it wouldn't be in Microsofts interest not to let TDU use Ferrari, you still think they won't be in the game. why don't you just wait and see instead of speculating that cars won't be in the game even though you have no factual information other than Bizarre don't have an exclusive licence!! if only this icon was a yawn :o
If you take a look at every other TDU screenshot then you will see that they have put no effects on them, with the Ferrari pic its blured the hell out of, you can hardly make it out.

most of the shots have some kind of effect, from fish eye to motion blur, it's meant to be artistic, the Ferrari is just to a different extent, i've taken photos in PGR3 that where you wouldn't be able to recognist the car!!
Fantastic images, but together they're over 1Mb, and they're too big for the forum.

:updown: Me too i have it, but if there was such a big car manufacturer like Ferrari in the game then i think the Developers would want to make that info known, like mentioning Ferrari's in the description and releasing clear images of Ferrari's, If you show me that there is another screenshot that is blurred to that extent then i will admit that there is Ferrari's in the game and post a picture of me eating my hat. :salut2:

The dude from Bizzard is 100% right about how it's working.
If I can't tell you exactly what car we have in game, it's not because I don't want to talk of it.. Trust me, I want to talk of it badly !!
But there are legal issues that prevent me to opening my mouth :)

I'm trying to find where that image has come from, it was attached to a car list on teh Project D forum, but is linked to image shack, i have noticed though that the pic doesn't have a number plate on it! Vibroboy is this perhaps a sign it's not an original? i've PM'd the guy who posted to try to find out where he got the image from so hopefully i'll hear something soon.
Are you not allowed to release a final car list because you are having problems with licensing at the moment? if you desperate to tell someone the final car list you can always PM me :wink2:

The picture is from the first trailer, after the word test drive unlimited comes up some cars drive past. It is right at the very end. If you pause it you can see the exact pic. :)

Well even the developer saif that it is possible to put ferrari's in the game, just it would be exspensive. I don't actually think there will be porsches in. Thats just what I think tho :wink2: :unk: I love the Smilies :aie:

RUF's tend to be what they use when they aren't allowed to use Porsche.
as far as i know Gembella's have not featured in any games to date, or none that i can remember.

Of course, since the game is set in Hawaii and features plenty of Ferraris, we can't help but wonder how many characters will bear a striking resemblance to Thomas Magnum (or Magnum P.I. to those of us in the know). Personally, I'm going with the Higgins look!
Just thought you'd like to know that this is stated on the gamespy preview.
I would leave the Ferrari's thing now, it is obvious that they are in :)

Well when people are previewing games, they have to jot stuff down and its perfectly easy to mis-interpret what the presenter is saying or showing.

Your pic though at that (http://www.xboxyde.com/pop_image.html?G=2938&N=1) link it might just be me, usually i'm the last to critise TDU but don't you think the Ferrari badge looks odd on the car, I know it should be there but what i mean is it just looks like it's been dumped on the car, there's no reflection on it or lighting effects, and also it doesn't seem to bend in keeping with the curves of the car, the perspective seems to be out a bit.
The rest of the car looks awseome though, but where are the Japanese hut type things in Hawaii, (i've never been)

going back to my post Vibroboy, is this pic actually taken from the game, or is it another back to front t-shirt text that just needs tweaking?, i guess it's not possible to iron out every single detail, and the car still looks great but it's just that badge looks out of place on such a beautiful car.

it's not that it's in the wrong place, it's jsut that you have curve and reflecting on the car, but that doesn't come across on the badge.

in respects to the 275 the first photo is a replica. firstly you can tell because plastic rear view mirror whereas the real one had a chrome. also to further prove the point how many people who own a ferrari worth nearly £400,000 live in a area which is full of caddillac elderados. dark:

Hmm, it's funny, I had a race with a Ferrari 360 cab today evesky. I bet you're enjoying your humble pie right now, and to top it off, I do believe I saw a Porsche 996 of some sort in one of the demo pictures.
I certainly hope it's a GT3, that car is an absolute animal, and if all the cars sound as furious as they do in the demo, I'll be able to relive that one night in a GT3 mdr1

Can't find my digital camera cable. If you play the demo, and when the final screenshots come up (at the end of the demo). The one with the Enzo in the lead, followed by a silver coupe, with a cyan Ferrari GTB inbetween that and the camera. It looks to me an aweful lot like a Porsche 996, there isn't a large spoiler, so if it is a Porsche, then would have to be a Turbo or a Carrera. I'd side with the Turbo seeing the cars so far in this game.

I know a gamesite gets something wrong..think about a time. You saw something you were really excited. You tell someone the story and 2 guys turns into 17 and there is swedish swimsuit models somehow. Reviewers are gamers to. I mean I work in a game store and pretty much get games propoganda to my eyeballs but, even I immnuized as I am, suffer from hype and repeat stuff I wish was true just as much as what I knew was true.
