Offline multiplayer???

it's a bit of a shame becasue if you haven't got live you can't play against anyone else, but i did used to find it a pain in the **** to play split screen as you lose some of you peripheral vision.

I still dont knw how the online will be set up. Is it just gonna be you make a room up to 16 people and then let people join. Or will it be different?

i think it is like an open lobby, you drive in and out of rooms but to be honest this is more of a guess as i haven't read anything on how the lobbies will work, i'm not sure whether this has actually been finalised. It looks like a 1000 or so gamers get dropped onto the island and as they drive around they will see new people but only 16 at a time, i am a bit confused though as you can meet up with people at one stop i.e. car clubs etc., so maybe if you park up somewhere and request people to join that creates a room, but i'm not really sure

Imagine there are 10,000 driver on the island at the same time.
It would be impossible to see em all on the road at the same time.

So, the game always show you the folks closest of you that match various filters you can set as you want.
And because all those folks you are able to see are moving too, the list of closest folks is changing all the time for you and for other people.
So, while driving, you will see different player around you, just not all of them at the same time but if you follow someone you will stay together.
You can also lock yourself with the other to be sure that even if you are driving in different part of the island, you will always be together and tha game won't show you the closest folks matching your filter in that case (usefull for friends for example).
There is also the clubs & the drivin that act like private and public lobby sorta. You can set up rides / race with folks with you in those lobby thingy.
