Well, I've seen a load of posts on here about how to build the shipyard and also about the Naval thing as a whole so figured it would be a good idea to give an overview in one thread that people can hopefully get the information regarding these matters in one place.

NAVAL
Firstly, (at the time of writing) there has been no AI written for the Naval units. In other words, the computer can't use them except for in the single player mode where it has all been scripted.
You can't do any naval battles in 'Engagement' mode because of the reason above. There is no AI (yet).

You can test out the ships etc by creating a LAN game and setting the game mode to Naval mode, or by playing online.

We are hoping for a patch to be released with AI written for the Computer so you are able to play naval battles offline against the computer. I would expect a patch of this nature to be released considering the amount they pushed the naval side of things as being a new feature.

SHIPYARDS
Because of the reasons above, you are unable to build Shipyards in any modes other than LAN or Online (or of course, the Singleplayer).
The build option for the Shipyard can be found by selecting a construction unit. A button will appear in the same menu as its repair function, move functions etc.

Also, of course, only some maps support Naval units, and those maps are the one's with the shipyard foundations on. These can be identified by small white Anchors on the Minimap.

If i've missed anything, anyone, please post below :)

Also, if you are looking for help regarding the game, please post your system specifications with your problem, and also try updating drivers for your hardware before posting, otherwise, chances are, us members won't be able to help :)

thats great but what about the task force tallon planes the joint strike fighter it doesn't engage the ground targets. it will only engage the air targets and won't drop its bombs on ground targets.

no. i know it has bombs but what i am saying is that it won't drop them on the targets.

Oh. I havn't really played the Consortium yet but I'll give them a go later and see if I can see what you're talking about.

A patch is expected very soon so if its something that everybody is experiencing due to a bug in the game, then I'm sure it'll be fixed in the patch.

I'll give it a try later and let you know.

Just tried it, they work fine. They drop up to 4 bombs on buildings in the target area (if they donīt get shot down before reaching it). You do know that they only use their bombs against buildings, not against infantry or vehicles, do you? If there are no buildings in the target area, they donīt drop them (unlike the B-2, Tu 160 and the upgraded A-10). After ordering an airstrike the buildings which will be targetet get marked with a lockon symbol that also shows how many bombs are allocated to each target. Hope youīll have a happy bombing run now! :wink2:

yes they drop their bombs in aow direct action. but in high treason they won't i have played several engagement games and they won't drop their bombs i have to use the titan missiales form the veichal pad.

Thats strange. As far as i can see you are the only one in this forum who has this problem. A gameplay bug that shows only on some systems is a rare thing, cause the gameplay ist usually not affected by drivers or hardware configurations. So if anyone has an idea what can cause it, please post it. Of course, you could try the usual problem solvers (new drivers, closing all other programms, reinstalling the game,...) if you have not alrady done so, but if you have not sent a mail to the support yet i would recommend that as the next step. Sorry, donīt have better ideas available.

Oh, nearly forgot: The last time I encountered this kind of bug myself it was a directx problem with some graphic cards/drivers. But that was about 8 years ago in Fleet Command and was only solved through a patch. Not sure if this has still any relevance. :mefiant:

no such luck i have uninstalled and reinstalled and updated my nvidia graphics drivers and nothing i am waiyng to hear from the support team. has any1 had this problem with aow high treason. if i remember the demo i downloaded did the same thing aswel it wouldn't drop the bombs either. i thought it was only the demo.
