Yeah, I've got an xbox360 with wireless connection.

Its easy to setup - well, no harder than setting up a windows PC - although entering details without a proper keyboard is a bit of a pain.

If your worried about using more than 40Gb a month then buying a wireless adsl modem router will cost you about 50 squids... but thats over a gig a day... every day! eekblue:

Microsoft rip you off with the wireless adapter, you can pick one up for just over £10, which doesn't work on the 360  You have to buy the official one which is £60 I think.

Bill Gates, have this: dark:

For wired - theres a Cat5 network socket on the xbox, just plug in and play.

For wireless - you have to buy the wireless adaptor kit.... at 45-60 pounds

For Live - you need to be connected to the internet and have a gold account (free for first month, and about 30 pounds a year after that. )

You need to get one of these. (http://shop.game.net/ViewProduct.aspx?cat=11273&mid=327033)

understudy, does it not lag at all..? I was wondering if it did, anyway my 360 is about 2 m away from my router anyway, no need for me to waste money.

It is actually £40 a year after that, and something like £5 a month if you want to have a different pay scheme.

No.... it feels just the same as wired...

Well wired is upto 100mps and wireless is 11 or 54 at most currently...

But my broadband is only 4mbps, so I'm never going to notice. :)

Oh dear, that will mean that there will be loads of cheaters!

On the original xbox, there use to be 2 month free trials, so really, the more you got, the more you got free, and you wouldn't have to pay! That isn't why they got rid of them. The reason is because of cheaters. On halo 2 cheaters use to buy these 2 month free trials on ebay, and then level up their other account, before the one they had the 2 month free trial on got banned.

They could keep doing this until they ran out of 2 month free trials, but there were so many, I had about 8 at one point.

Sad really, the few sad people who obviously musn't have any hapiness in life if all they care about is a small number next to your name has to spoil it for the rest of us :noooo:

silver is free :bravo:

But you can't do much other than get system updates I think... when my month of goldeness runs out, I'll let you know what silver is like :)

once you have gold, you'll always want gold. its one of those marketing traps from micro$oft

i dont like bt :(

after getting a fantastic looking wireless router and wireless attatchment for the PC at the car boot sale yesterday for just £20 i was very exited. i ran the install CD, yay, it got all the way through, at the end though it asked to enter my internet details, i entered in my Wanadoo details and blam, please enter a BT address, why? because it is a turdy BT voyager 2091 and it is locked to BT broadband. :(

doesnt matter though, ive seen the same modem, without the bit for the computer go for £30, i got it for £20 with the computer bit :):):) tis the season to sell on ebay, tralalalala-lalalala :)

Yes, you need the 'official' adaptor (though if they've used an exisitng chipset - zd1211 / acx100 / acx111 etc, then perhaps a 'normal' usb adaptor for a pc would work if it had the same hardware - I'm not sure :mefiant: )

It should work with any existing wireless network. :)
