Indeed. Understudy and I spent quite a few hours at Atari playing around with TDU yesterday :bravo:
If you thought that the demo was good, be prepared to be blown away when the real thing comes out (confirmed on the 1st September), what we saw yesterday - which is nowhere near being the finished product - was absolutely amazing.
The graphics have been refined, the texture is fantastic, the possibilities for game play are incredible. The handling is slightly different than in the demo - I'd say slightly harder, but as in you'll need time to learn how to handle your car, this is certainly not an arcade game in any way.
To those who were wondering about racing and cheating by cutting corners and driving on the grass, guess what, doing that will get you penalised and will even show on your stats, everybody will know what kind of driver you are!
Just a little taster for you, more will follow ;)

Good news Tenebra ;) And this game would be the best racing game ever made, that is what I'm thinking ;)
Yes, I so wish I was an employee of atari, Your my kind of women. A female that loves racing sims 10sur10
You are so lucky, thanks for keeping us updated! :respect:

We'll tell you what we can.. its almost soul destroying to be told exciting stuff, and then be told that the final decisions and contracts haven't been signed off yet, so we can't tell anyone. :noooo:
The official car list should be finalised in a week or so. It looks like Atari are intending to release this as soon as all the manufacturers are signed off - we're hoping that the info will be given to us, and we can pass it on straight away, so the forum will know before anyone else ! :chapeau: :chapeau:

Hehe, I wish I was an Atari employee too lolblue:
Just to clarify, none of the moderators is employed by Atari, we're just giving some of our spare time (for free) to help out with the community. It's really cool to see a publisher so keen on talking to their gamers :)
To be honest I'm not a hardcore racing sim fan, although I do occasionally play racing games, but this is just something completely different and I hope I'll have the time to play it regularly online (and hopefully kick your bums tonguegre ). My speciality are fighting games - yesh, I'd make you cry and beg for mercy any day on Street Fighter, Tekken or Soul Calibur mdr1 What I enjoy most though are horror adventure games, and in fact I ended up here for Alone in the Dark 4. If you also like this sort of games, get ready for another fantastic release, the new AITD installment will be released next year :bravo: :bravo:

I think he means trying to cheat using short cuts(different roads) that are not assigned in the race your doing at the time.

Oh no no, I wasn't blaming you or anything. I would probably be in the American forums, but when I first started reading/posting in the forums it always directed me here and I got used to it. So it's not your falt :)
Edit: After reading my post again it did seem kind of condescending(was not meant to be), but It didn't seem like that in my head. eekblue: :mefiant: :)
lol, sorry man was just joking. It all depends on many factors, there just doing one hell of a job. (I'm actually going to ask all my readings to venture over here) So more traffic and trolls for you guys.

the usa forum seems very slow compared to this one. Is this forum just general "ENGLISH" speaking or is it "BRITISH"?
just wondering.

I'd say it's English speaking rather than British, there's plenty of people from all over Europe and a few Americans. We've always liked keeping the international flavour in here ;)

I know what he mean't was just joking around, been old up all night coughing my head off I thought I was over this stupid cold. darn it

Will PC version owners also get to download extra stuff in the internet? Or is it just the Xbox 360 owners who can download more cars and extra stuff from the market place?

Well, I hope they keep working on the graphics up untill it's final code, but more importantly, the cars and the cops.
They should release a demo of the final code in august. Let those haters get a taste of what they are missing out on.

i think its great to finally see a game which uses the 360's power and capacity to its full potential. It really is great. This game is the game of the year IMO.
