Hi to all, this is a very nice forum, iv been reading up quite abit about TDU and find that you guys are drooling at the mouth over it just as much as me :rolleyes:

I will be getting the PC version of the game in September (god forbid it comes out any later - ill scream till i die!)

Anyway i just have one question for now:

Will the game have full support for the Xbox 360 controller on the PC?

Iv just ordered my Xbox 360 Pad as i can't imagine playing the game on a keyboard, id love to be able to do all the same things with this pad on the PC as you guys who are getting the 360 version - will this be possible and if not are the devs thinking about it?

Hi, welcome to the forum :)

Firstly the PC version of the game is not due out til October

Secondly the 360 pad for the conputer is not compatible with the PC - at the moment. Microsoft are releasing something later this year.

I think it will prob be compatible and if not there may be an update or a mod that makes it compatible.

You can get a 360 lookalike controller for the PC.

Funny you should say that because my friend has one that does work...

There is a review for it on the link below.. its not to great, it has similar problems to other pads on the PC

all i know is that Microsoft is releasing and OFFICIAL thing to have you 360 controllers working with the PC. There is prob unofficial stuff available now like the Eyetoy can work as a webcam

Hmm iv read up on them alittle bit, and as far to my knowledge the same 360 controllers for the console are compatible with PCs aswell, they have USB ends (for want of a better word) - The wireless versions are not compatible at all but the cabled ones are

Lol oh well, Its possible if you have a infared reciver on your pc too , you can code the wireless one , if your clever enough!

The wireless one isn't compatible Wae, so I suggest you avoid that one for now, until Microsoft release the drivers for it though it's been a while since they said so.
Many tried with the charge and play kit, but it still doesn't work.

As Taxi said, the drivers for the wired one have been out.

I have already told you that I have the release sheet from Atari and there is no mention of the PC/PS2/PSP versions release date. They are under "Coming Soon - TBC". As soon as I have any information about the release dates I'll pass it to you as I've always done :)

There is news that the Xbox 360 controller will be able to connect to the pc when you have Windows Vista. This is because you can also use Windows Vista to play against Xbox owners when you are on you pc. So yes you can use the Xbox 360 controller when you have Windows Vista.

Well i have the plug and play kit for my 360 and it works wen i hook it up to the computer. And yes i do mean i can accturly use it not just let it charge

Please show how, because I've read 46 different forums on the X360 Wireless on the PC, and all of them came with the same answer that the Play and Charge does not work either. It transmits a signal, but is not recognized.

Because no info has been released on the PC version i would doubt they can provide you with any compatibility info, i.e they are still working on it (Magicfr still post on the US forum can't imagine why none of the devs post here now? :lol:might have something to do with a forum full of ******* ******* self sensored) check out the US forum and look for Magicfr he is the best chance you have of getting a relvent and meaningful answer!!

the mods don't really know much moer than we do. They don't work for Atari and arn't connected in any way with the game development :)

Yeah, but buying a wheel is a bit cheaper than buying a 360. Then you want xbox live, some games and suddenly we are talking a lot of money here..

yeah but it is worth it. Think of the games you'll be able to play that you won't be able to on the PC such as Halo 3! Why do you want to use the 360 controller so badly anyway?

Uh, I'm pretty sure Halo 3 will see the light of day on the PC one day.

I could say the same for the PC, but MS seems desperate enough to just port them over.

they are about to release Halo 2 for the PC but that came out like 3 years ago. It will take ages before they release Halo 3. Easier to buy a 360

I would be pretty sure that if the xbox360 controller could communicate properly with the PC, then any valid conroller would be useable with TDU. The controls seem to be very flexibile.

I think its a good game, but theres ppl buying a xbox just to play Halo, and i dont think its that good..

It's just another shooter. Practically the same as Half-Life or anything else. Most FPS' are the same. It's not great, it's not bad, can't see why everyone gets hyped.

Half life 2 and Halo 2, css, RS3, Ghost reacon, and all FPSs are completley diffferent imo. You play differently on them, and they are all good or bad in different ways, halo 2 is one of the best games I have ever played.

Halo=overhyped, and mediocore. Single player was only decent in the 1st, and multi-player online is just average. It's no different from HL2 Deathmatch. You still use strange guns and fight different looking people.

It really isn't that great. I see its only overhyped because it has a "badass" guy everyone wants to play as. He never dies because the game uses a "cheating" system of replenishing your health with no effort. There's no challenge, since you can just kill anything and rarely die. Something like COD2, except there your health goes down very quick.

Besides, Snake>Master Chief.

yeah i don't actually like Halo that much. I hate the online playing because there are some really sad people that play it 24/7 and are really good. I like the missions tho

Halo 2 has now become stupid online. Have they fixed the cod2 online play yet? Because when i last played it , it was full of lag.

LoL. If you own a half decent PC and want to play a realy good FPS and you over 18 :wink2: then id have to recommend F.E.A.R. - really good atmosphere and makes you jump everynow and again + has an awesome story - much better than HALO or HL2 imho
