he obviously knows what drifting is, he just doesnt care. I would love drifting in this game. PGR 3 style but more sideways a little less than Ridge racer 6.

yes drifting would be great...with a steering wheel

No, i know what drifting is! :nono:
I was expecting him to start a discussion. lolblue: muppet
Ridge Racer. :bravo:
No please not like RR or PGR3, if you wanna drift do it like a sim, not some easy to control rubbish like PGR3.
It would be fun to drift on the mountains of Hawaii mdr1
A drifting car club would be cool too !!!

If the cars have good psychics and the devs said that they want to make the car realistic, you can drift.

If you can even control it, and the power to the wheels is acurate, then maybe.
But don't expect to just start drifting out of nowhere in a Murcielago.
YEAAAHHH....sure PGR3 drifting 4ever!!!  LOL
....just kiding....
F*** it! I have never seen so stupid physics as the PGR3.....
Just imagine....MURCIELAGO R-GT which rear wing(spoiler) is about 2 metres wide and can make downforce about 500kg (!)
...and you realy CAN drift with it in that stupid game...that is totally CRAZY  dark: Realy impossible in reality....and then someone say that he wants to drift so coooool like in PGR3...
Drifting in reality is SO dificult to do just on racetrack.....on hawai roads with traffic ...you should be Richard Burns to manage it correctly lol.... (...well, thats true only if magicfr was sirious about that the physics engine of TDU is pure simulation :hin: )

PGR3=Pure arcade. Arcade=fantasy physics.
Well in case any of you haven't noticed, PGR3 isn't really meant to have realistic handling, although some people think it is realistic lol

Drifting Rulezzz ! ! !
if there going to be drifting mode or something like that when car is more controlable in sideways it will be cool !
but drifting needs good car too Something like an nissan 240xs or 350z Skyline with 4Wd disabled or something like that Japanse cars are the best in the drifting !
Have you just come home from watching the new need for speed?

Yup! you need RWD(amoung other things)to drift correctly.
4wd is also great for drifting, look at the 911 turbo, good car to drift.
also a nice :http://www.sport1.de/de/multimedia/Video_Show_160085.html
a driftchallenge-video

The greatest sim game for drifting (that I have tried) is Enthusia for PS2... If you have the Logitech Driving Force Pro wheel it really feels like it's you who are drifting the car round the corner... and you have to be awake 'cause if you're not the car will spind around...
Have anyone else tried this fantastic game???
The best game for drifting is Initial D. Its old but it was the first ever drifting game (I think?)

The game is mainly a simulation free roam car game. Propper drifitng requires a certain style of tyres and transmission differencial, which, your not going to find on a exotic sports car.
You can get a car to drift anyway by a number of ways. But theres no point having a specialised parts and cars for it.
And remember, its not the same as the crappy film or 'Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift'.

As much as i like drifting, the last thing i want when i'm cruising along a road, is a lambo hitting me sideways.
I can imagine it now.

Yes, you can drift in any car given the right situation. But to actually do it correctly you need RWD, slick tires, right trans and such and such. That said I'm sure you will be able to drift in the game(at least somewhat) using the handbrake to set an angle with the back end.
EDIT:You could even kinda do it in NFSMW and thats an arcade game.

...no, you canīt drift in any car.....DRIFTING is not just SLIDING...yes..you can oversteer and understeer in any car....but that has nothing to do with drifting.....

Thats exactly what I said. To do a "proper" drift you need a drift car. Don't know where you came from with understeer, but Oversteer IS a form of drifting. Any car can "drift" with oversteer, but if you go with the true definition of drifting then you are right. But that is not what I was talking about. Oversteer is usually not intentional and does not last as long as a real "drift" should. Which is when your controlling the steering, throttle, and clutch to keep the car sideways.

That's because the 4WD was switched into 2WD drive mode. :wink2:

nope, no 2wd drife mode, the lamboghini has 75% of the power on the back the rest on the front, only in extreme situatoins its 50-50 nearly the same at porsche and that 4wd system is all the time you drive.

I was referring to the Porsche.
I already stated don't expect to drift the Murcielago.
a porsche 911 turbo is also 4wd (sice the 996 turbo)

my point with oversteer and UNDERSTEER was, that they are both tipes of slide and some d*mb*sses think that any slide=drift
Drifting is not jusst simple overesteer....its quitedificult techique... :wink2:

Hold up peeps you do not need a drift setup to drift or as you peeps like to say a drift car, i had going back about 8 years ago a 320i BMW what was a straight six with plenty of low down power, i could drift this very well in the wet and use to drift round my local large roundabout with ease. Ok in the dry i could only manage about just over a Qtr of that roundabout due to lack of power. But ya just need to know how and plenty of practice you all will be able to do it. Front or rear wheeled drive cars can drift but as we all know rear is the best, Best car i have been able to drift in was the lotus elise but was very twitchy in the wet but loads of fun.
