In the GT TDU preview, (link) (http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?id=1645#gameplay) the guy speaking mentioned something about if you speed past a cop, while not in a race, you will get a badge or something.. Is this true?

nope. The only way you can get a badge is when you crash into other cars.

Yeah, I was hoping they would have speed limits. I feel it would have kept driving on the island more civilized. Oh well...

Pffffffffffffffff :noooo: Another dissapointment. This game tries to be realistic, but you can drive by a cop with 200+ and nothing happens weirdblue
Martin, I thought you knew that ages ago?
It was cause of licensing and boring stuff.

Huh? Licensing if you drive by a cop with 200mph? I think that hasn't anything to do with licenses.

Really it does. Vibro said it somewere before. Belive it or not, dosen't matter.

I'm sure it does, unless a TDU dev is giving us false info weirdblue
so basically you can drive as dangerously as you like as long as you dont hit anyone else??
and i dont understand how licensing issues would stop the police chasing you for speeding??
nfs most wanted got round that somehow, how come tdu gets caught up in the license rubbish??

it wasn't licensing.
Vibro said that they did put that in the game - speeding
and they were playing with it for a while and it got boring as you were in a permanent police chase. Remember this game is an exotic casual racing game. Its not mainly about police chases. If you want police chases, buy GTA
good point
never looked at it like that
also does anyone know if a cop has to see you crash into someone, or do they chase you even if they dont see you do anything?

they chase you even if they don't see you.

Please quote me exactly where he said that, cause what you just said is BS. Look here. (http://forums.eu.atari.com/showthread.php?t=37860&page=1&highlight=police)
- police not chasing you when cruising at 150mph
at start, everything you were doing wrong (driving on the wrong lane, above speed limit, not stopping at traffic light or stop etc.) was making the cops chasing you.
But with that we had a few licensing issues (again...) and we had to change it to : the cops chase you only when destroying cars or panels.
It's kinda weird I know.. we are not pleased either. But it's the only solution found to those legals problem
