ATARI Announces Neverwinter Nights 2 Toolset Beta Test!

Atari, Inc. and Obsidian Entertainment are pleased to announce a closed public beta test for Neverwinter Nights™ 2 for PC. Neverwinter Nights™ 2 is an extensive role-playing game that employs a rich single-player experience, a toolset for creating custom adventures, as well as a multiplayer component where adventurers can team up and explore the world of Faerun as a team! This sequel to the original award-winning Neverwinter Nights takes advantage of the new “3.5 edition” DUNGEONS & DRAGONS® rule set while also utilizing an astonishing new 3D graphics engine. Neverwinter Nights 2 is set in the DUNGEONS & DRAGONS Forgotten Realms® universe created by Wizards of the Coast, a subsidiary of Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE: HAS)

This closed public beta test focuses on the game’s toolset, which allows you to create your own modules and play your own adventures in the world of Neverwinter Nights 2. This is going to be a very limited beta test, which means only a small number of people will be selected to participate.

This beta test will comprise the Toolset only, the purpose of which is to get your feedback on hardware compatibility testing, testing of all Toolset features, and also general functionality testing. Please remember that if you are selected for this beta test you will be under a strict non-disclosure agreement (NDA) which means you cannot discuss the product outside of our dedicated private beta forum at www.ataricommunity.com.

At the present time, we are without our www.betatests.net site; therefore sign-ups will be handled a little differently for Neverwinter Nights 2. In order to sign up for the beta, please visit the below URL and be sure to fill out all of the required information.

Do we have to apply here as well ?

I've sent in two applications via other means, then mysteriously was registered on these forums (without applying) and when I visit here, I see another method for registering for the beta.

Is this some sort of adventure game - Atari sends players and DM's all over the net, where they have to fight evil beaurocracy and battle submission forms until finally they are rewarded with the ultimate goal - a beta test of an imminently released product ? If so, what level am I at right now ?

ROFL

It sounds like The Castle by Kafka lolblue: lolblue:

Sorry, altquark, I have never heard about anyone being randomly signed up. Are you sure you didn't do it and then forgot about it? :mefiant: Can you please tell me when you received password and confirmation email from Atari?

As for the beta, it's the link in my initial post that you have to use. If that's what you've already done, you should be fine and just keep your fingers crossed.
