Talking online in TD:U

Just a question ive been thinking of

How will the in game chat system work?

Will you only be able to hear from the seven players you can see?
Hopefully there will filters.
Will you have to press a button to activate speach (ala Halo 2)
Do the voices get louder the closer the players car is?
and so on...

you can hear the cars that you can see but you can set it to talk to friends that are all over the map.
