LONDON, ENGLAND – 1 September 2006 – Atari, today announced they are showcasing their critically acclaimed title for the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Test Drive Unlimited, at one of the UK’s biggest and loudest modified car and track events, TRAX 2006.

TRAX is widely considered to be the modified and performance car enthusiast’s favorite show and is best known as the ultimate finale to the car show season. Last year saw more visitors than ever pass through the gates to soak up the atmosphere, and an excess of 20,000 petrol heads are expected to converge to the world famous Silverstone Circuit this weekend for some turbo charged action.

Atari’s new Test Drive Unlimited game, which has captured the imagination of the world’s motoring media, will be on show at the Test Drive Unlimited Pit, as well as at the Redline Pit, one of the main show sponsors. At the Test Drive Unlimited Pit punters will be able to get a glimpse of the stunning UK glamour model Holly Newbury who will be signing posters and posing for photo opportunities with a Lamborghini Murcielago which will also be on show. In addition to getting their hands on the game ahead of its release next week, visitors will be given the chance to win copies of the game with Xbox 360 consoles also up for grabs.

Packed with the world’s most luxurious vehicles, more than one thousand miles of open Hawaiian roads, a challenging single player game and a host of online options, Test Drive Unlimited is the ultimate automotive gaming experience. Test Drive Unlimited is racing reinvented.

“We’re very happy to attend Trax at Silverstone this weekend. We are doing our very best to get the game played by as many people as possible and this is a superb opportunity to have some really cool giveaways and present the game to thousands of car fans. The current reviews that are going on sale from today are some of the best that I’ve seen and the current buzz around the title is superb! It’s going to be a fantastic month for Xbox 360 games.” Lee Kirton, Head of UK PR.

Test Drive Unlimited will cruise into stores on Xbox 360 on 8th September 2006, with PC, PS2 and PSP versions to following later in the year.

The TDU bit sounds alright, the rest of the event sounds ****. Boy racers and zumped up cars, not my sort of thing. The only part that would appeal to me is the show girls.
