Are you from the UK ? And if so are you using the normal SCART adaptor that came with your 360, if you have one.
CRT's are the best screens out there 10sur10 the true gamers choice,
I suggest you use a VGA cable

well what makes them better
well what makes them better
Off the top of my head, no motion blur and broader colour depth (blacker blacks) are 2 things that make crt's better.

They have longer life...
Better quality...
No visible squares and such unlike some LCD...
Less blur...
Better colour...
The only reason people by LCD and Plasma s becasue they a flat...but the qualityy is so much worse than that of a CRT or DLP

I'm not sure about TVs but for PC the CRT is by far the best for games due to the refresh rates they are capable of over the LCDs.

Don't get me wrong, but any TFT with a reaction time under 8ms is at least as good for games as any CRT. Additionally to that most TFT's have an automatic screen adjustment, so the picture is always set up perfectly to fill out the screen. Color adjustments can always be done over software, and my current screen (19" Samsung TFT with 8ms) has a far better picture quality than my old CRT (19" Eizo).

I'm not sure how things have changed but when I was playing counterstrike a couple of years ago on the PC nobody could get their TFT to run over 75fps. In the end we all had CRTs with a refresh rate of 100fps. (fps=Frames Per Second for those who don't know)
I don't know about 8ms, I'm having some trouble converting that into fps, my brain has taken the day off.

I think LCD/TFT's run @ 75hz max which would make the FPS 75 if you had vsync enabled, if it was disabled then you would of got a higher framerate
