Which video game engine sounds do you prefer? I like the engine sounds of Need For Speed: Most Wanted because although they may not sound more "realistic", I think they sound more aggressive and were more enjoyable to play around with. I really liked the difference in sounds after modifications also.

(This thread is about engine sounds, not the overall game)

TDU but Forza 2 is going to have some good ones. I heard muscle cars in GT4 sound like civics rolleyesa

GTR, Most Wanted, MC3, and PGR3.

TDU's sounds are only justified by by certain cars. The Ferrari's sound great, the Lamborghini Gallardo has improved, and Murcielago is pretty sweet, but others like the McLaren and the SLR so far sound really bad.

EDIT* As herr said, yes, the V8s and the lot from GT Legends are amazing. 10sur10

Although some of the cars in TDU do sound nice, they aren't as realistic as PGR3

So far I've only heard TDU car sounds from vids... from what I heard up til lnow though... (I hate to say this but I have to admit it) NFS:MW has the most realistic car sounds I've heard in a game... get a Creative X-Fi, good surround speakers, a Dodge Viper and you will bring down ur house... Crisp, high quality and realistic sounds

LFS, the engines sound really good (cant say realistic, being as all the cars are fictional :))

I think the sound in TDU is better because NFS didn't play around with the sound of the gearchange like TDU has. You can tell what gear change device (stick, paddle) the car has by the sound and it has some nice gear changing sounds in the stick shift ones. It is a shame they didn't complete different sounds for all cars mind. That Mcl F1 would have sounded a lot different. I'm sure you've seen videos of the F1 from in car. Amazing noise.

you can say realistic, because the sound is created in real time instead of just being played from samples. but even though i'm a huge LFS fan since the first demo, i wouldn't say the engines sounded really good. they're okayish, but could definately be a lot better.
