Hi all, new member here. I apologise for beong off topic but I was curious about X-Box Live, I don't have it at the moment, just wanted to know if I could set up X-Box Live on any ISP. I have a standard BT 8mb and NTL 10mb. just want to know if either of these are ok and what would I need to sign up for X-Box Live.

Anyway, I apologise for being off topic and any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Which ISP? I was with BT to begin with, then upgraded to 8mb, regretted it because the connection kept dropping, so my parents can have BT and I decided to go for NTL. 10MB = £35

It's better than nothing, I guess. I will probably have to use BT for mine which means my connection will probably drop quite often

Im waiting for Sky. They said my area will be able to recieve at least 2mb broadband by next year, and upto 8mb and growing after that. At the moment, all we can get is 512kb boradband, but luckily, it keeps up with a lot of faster connections on games.

As long as it doesn't affect your online experience it doesn't really matter.

I'm downloading TDU now :D

your in sweden aren't you? :)

if you are then yep the 100mb line you have or the 10mb line that seems to be the other speed is even nicer than you think, why? cos what you pay for your 100mb line is about the same after currency conversion for about 10ukp/m less than the ntl 10mb line.
In sweden its 100mb both ways in the uk its 2 or 8mb down and 256k up most usually, and in the case of Orange you get a 2gig a month transfer limit, easily broken if you download movies from one of the legal sources like "sky-movies by broadband"

I'm happy with my 10MB NTL, I get 1.25MB/sec download and I think around 70KB/sec upload and i'm not too concerned about uploading unless I host games which I rarely do

This has gone WAYYY offtopic from even the offtopic thread, but what the hell... ;)
I'm running on 6mbit at the moment but eagerly waiting for the 16mbit availability in my part of town, which will the only cost us 3€/mo more

SInce the term "XBox Live" was mentioned: Isn't Windows Vista goingto support some kind of "Live" Feature for PC Gamers too, with gamertag and all? I thought to have read something like that some time ago but do not know much or at all about it. Does someone maybe have a reference link for me? Thanks.
