View Full Version : Features which could be added
I feel that this could still be expanded maybe next time i guess...
If companies like Mcdonalds, KFC, etc.. join TDU. They could probably add hunger mode or something, in where your person has to visit the food place.
Or even go shopping for food at a supermarket as there seems to be no reason for owning a house... just for a large garage.
And the Mcdonalds for example could have a drive-in, in where people online are actually queuing to be served *will need to be many mcdonalds around the hawaii*
Also to meet friends could meet in many ways, they could visit your house possibly have a mini game of poker or monopoly . Also friends could also meet in coffee shops and they could just sit down and talk. *They could use the PC poker function in where they just sit down *
I feel they made a wise choice with not exaggerating the RPG aspects of the game. Adding hunger to the game wouldn't be wise, I think we have to worry enough of eating enough while playing this game anyway. ;) I do think it would be a good idea to require people to fill their cars up with gas though, and pay for it. :)
Well they could atleast let people visit your house
Agree with Fokke.
I think that would be just to much. Then mybe you could add sleep mode su you have to go to the house and have napp or else you get tired and that effects your driving skills, but you can minimize that to a certain point with a cup of coffe. And then you could add a real job for the character (maybe owning a care dealership/tunig garage and work there as a menager) of a charter fleet owner (than you could be driving boats and so on and so on... This is, first of all, driving simulation/arcade where you can drive cars that you probbably won't be able to drive in the real life. It has just enough real life elements.
I think those kind of real-life games are deffinately to come, but TDU is not one of them and has no intention to try becoming that.
The gas stations would be nice feature
Go play the sims if you need other things.

Unfortunately the game has gone gold already and it is not possible to change the game with significant features like that.

I feel the same way. I really don't want any fast food to be a sponsor of any game, especialy TDU. Don't really see the point of queing for food... weirdblue
I guess poker games and stuff could be fun. But things like eating or getting out of your car just doesn't make sence in this game where the point is to race. And honestly, I'd rather eat a "real" sandwitch while playing than buying one and telling me "omg that looks good but I can't taste it"

i think so too. the option with hunger is (for me) just trash!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, a working casino where you can chat to the people on your poker or blackjack table and squander your winnings all night, or win other peoples money, I think that's a really good idea. It would break up the driving a little if you wanted to have a half hour break. Track day events at the track would be good too. They could have some cars at the track which aren't in the game like F1 cars and other race cars which you could rent for 5 or 10 laps.

or you could shut down TDU and then play Texas Holdem poker on xbox live!!!
TDU is first and foremost a driving game, want Poker then play poke, it was a free download afterall.

I play Texas on the PC. I thought it would be good for the game because it would keep people on it and the player numbers up. I know I get distracted by other things when I have a break for games, this wouldn't happen if I stayed inside the game somehow. I wasn't talking about just poker, I was talking about a full blown casino in which you could talk to people over the headset and gamble your winnings. This would add another aspect to money making/losing within the game to buy new upgrades, houses and cars. ;)

Is it true, that you can sell your cars online? This may be a stupid idea but what about pink slips? may be interesting but probably annoying too, if you have a McLaren F1 for example and you were racing say a VW Golf R32. you spend ages saving up for an F1 and you lose the race because some Sunday driver got in your way.

It was annoying in GTA, it'll be annoying here. Only Saints Row did restaurants and fast food right.

Yeah, it was a bit annoying in GTA but it had a use, in that it was a way to top up your health.
I just want to be able to park up, switch off my engine and wait for a challenge or just park up somewhere. Could be something to add in that left context menu perhaps ! You can still stall the cars I've noticed.
D-pad Left:
Radio
Driving Aids
Players
Functions (Engine Off, Lights on)
etc...
That context menu could be easily expanded without making it too cluttered.

but itīs possible to make changes to PC version :p
As far as I know the PC Version and the X360 Version will interact with each other (correct me if I'm wrong). Being so you cannot change the content of one version or it would miss in the other. Except if they patch it of course, which is highly doubtable for something like this.
As far as I know you are able to do pink slips. But as before I am not completely sure about it.
Car shows
Customizeable home's
Video recording that saves to you 360's Hard Drive
The ability to open the visor on the bike helmets, just like car windows
Car companys option lists, i.e. sun roofs, gear types, sport packs...

Lol, then you'll go blind with all the dust and bugs......
they should defiently have track days. a casino would be a good idea because you could meet people and arrange races and its a good way to win and lose races. a car show where you could exit the car and walkaround would be good because it gives you the chance to see other peoples cars and show yours off. the fuel idea would be good but it would be a problem with most of the supercars because the mclaren f1 averages at 7miles to the gallon. if petrol ran out you would have to pay a tow truck to come and pick you up.
'The ability to open the visor on the bike helmets, just like car windows.'
theres alot of things flying through visor at a go kart track doing 30ish mph imagine what would fly in at 183mph lol it would be interesting.

House always wins, 'tis true. A friend once gave me a lesson in gambling. I never gambled again, even when a mate asks if I've got a pound for the bandit. Nope but I've got 2 pound to buy you a pint.

Nope. Vibro said the PC and Xbox360 isn't that advanced yet. Maybe in the future.

It is still possible, they have gas stations on the map and with Microsofts new development features over xbox live. They can for new code in to the current game code. This hasnt be used too much so far apart from Kameo online Co-op has been the biggest leap. But before the xbox was launched. Microsoft gave out a press conference showing the new Devleopment styles.
It will be highly unlickely you will see any major changes in games as its to much work for Developers to change the code test it all over again to make sure it playable to the public.

If Atari still supports TDU when Windows Vista comes out then they may look into adding cross network games. But that is more likely to see in a sequel rather than the current game.
Sorry for the double post well it is 3am give you guys something to read when you wake up :D

I would really like to have predestians. But you couldn't drive over them like in Midtown Madneses.
And the ability to put your roof up and down, in CoupeConvertibles. Like SLK55 AMG, MC12, XLR-V....
And maybe aftermarket rims wouldn't be so bad. Aferall pretty many in real life changes rims in their exotic cars.
But no stupid food or gas fillups. It would be cool for the first two or three times, but after that you just don't want to go to the gas station every hour. And a prius could win a Ford GT in a long race if there is fillups.
I don't want damage. I don't want to see so beautiful cars get damaged. NO DAMAGE!!!!!!!!!

petrol would probably the best thing, people could buy and sell the petrol stations and petrol prices can raise and lower
the_gaming_guy

Then when the prices all go up, we can all go and gather outside the petrol station and protest........

we can make the station owners broke. I dont to see food coz tht would make it to much RPG and unrealistic. I think walking round the house/garage would also make a good feature.

Things that driving involves in real life would be good.
Running costs, Depreciation, Tax, Fuel, and so on......

insurance! the more times you are caught by the cops the higher the insurance, the better the cars, the higher the cost. You would only need one insurance policy for all your cars though
I believe that all of us would like to have few houses and super cars ASAP after we start the game. Now imagine to have all this costs like insurance, gas, food, tires, spare parts, services etc. You would be able to afford max. 5 cars and the game wouldn't be such a joy or developers should come up with some totaly unrealistic way to make loads of money. What I would like to see (as someone mentioned before) is more freedom and pedestrians so you can get out of the car and walk especially in your house/garage.
All of the features you've mentioned would be great in some other game, not TDU cause TDU is, before all, driving sim/arcade. I would like to play sime kind of people sim with great cars like and diving option like in TDU, though.

I see what you mean. Maybe there could be another similar game where you actually live life with cars how you would in reality.
Getaway driver for a bank robbery. Might be a way to get loads of money fast. Not that unrealistic either. Or maybe driving a VIP around in a limo. Stealing exotics would also bring in that cash.
NOTE: It's a game, I'm not for this kind of thing in real life. ;)

That's right. People sim with driving option (going to work, hollydays, fiel trips etc) and great cars (real sport cars not some imagined models).

Now some of you are going for too much realism. Taxes? Insurance? You'd be constantly racing just to keep 2 Lamborghinis insured every month. Think what it would be if you had 52 supercars now?
The game is to live a dream lifestyle. You don't pay taxes, insurance, or for gas in a dream lifestyle. That's simply too much realism, and people who would actually be able to get atleast 20 cars would be the top folks in the game.
