it depends on how early you pre-ordered it. This is obviously and automated email and i will get the same thing from gameplay. It says dispatch date estimate as the 6th! Soi should get it on the 7th or definetly on the 8th.

By saying you are one of the first, it gives you the illusion that you'll get it before everyone else, however, this basically means that you'll get it when the first people get it...i.e Friday Morning.

But, there is every chance that he'll get it early, but it's not worth getting your hopes up for.....

I think it means they have charged your credit card, which should also mean they have the goods in stock.

couriers and postage plays the big part, but Play.com use recorded mail with most the stuff i get from them, and its always arrived on time.

only in my own experience, i've been messed around 3 times by royal mail. which isnt bad considering the hundreds of parcels i've sent in the last few years.

If it's special delivery, it's guaranteed to be there before 1pm the next day, but will be delivered whatever time your postman normally gets to your house. Waste of money though, normal first class would have done the same thing

For those that ordered from Game.net (GAME - game.co.uk), you will definitely be getting it on Thursday, a day before release.

N3 (recently) and all the other games I've preordered from GAME.net always come a day early. Just to be sure though, I order 1st class Royal Mail.

Hopefully all of us that did order from GAME will have our copies dispatched tomorrow or Wednesday (my bet Wednesday - seeing as N3 was dispatched on Wednesday 23rd August and arrive the morning after, Thursday 24th August when the official European release was the 25th, Friday).

I think the best way to confirm whether he really has the game is to state which game store he got it from. Then someone else can phone the store and see if they are selling them prior to the release date.

From my experience no Game stores sell pre-orders early from a store. They risk heavy fines for doing so and stopped doing it years ago.

I wish I'd ordered from game. I hinged my bets with Amazon.

I didn't order from Play.com because on several occasions I have received released games on the Monday afterwards. Amazon usually deliver on-time (i.e. Friday) but never early in my experience.

I think there is a legal requirement that online companies (with the exception of the publisher) are not allowed to post games so we get them early. Some companies will do this but I think that technically they run the risk of legal action against them by the publisher. (correct me Atari if I'm wrong).

As I understand it, Royal Mail standard is just the normal 1st class post. So your postman should deliver it (next day in my case usually) in the morning sometime. For example, whenever I order something from Amazon.co.uk I just go for the cheapest post which says 2-5 days delivery. However, in practice as long as the item is despatched before 4 or 5pm, it always seems to come the very next day.

GAME say they have dispatched the item at 8:40am this morning, so I would be surprised if the game didn't turn up tomorrow morning (at least in my case)

We just all have to wait and see....

This is a joke, my tracking still says picked and packing and dispatched in past orders, but still no email. I demand Game to dispatch my copy in the next hour or two, or I will email them again.

Just think though, how many people have ordered and how many they have to troll through. Yes the response is automated but someone has to pick n pack then make sure the email is sent through. Thousands...

If those that order by standard and get it tomorrow though THEN I will complain because having put an extra £4.95 on top and still receiving it the same day, hmmm, but it does say standard = 2 business days so tonguegre

EDIT: Ahhhh!! I've gotten two emails in the past 10minutes, one saying a notification failure :mad: and the other a newsletter from EA! DAMMIT!!! madred:

I had another email saying "you have recieved an email from customerservice@gameblah.net" or whatever, I was like "w00t w00t w00t!!!" - turns out it was Dead Rising :mad: I should be happy that DR is on its way but TDU!!!! WHERE ARE YOU!! (I ordered it the same day too, I swear I'm getting emails just to spite me :cry: ).

But TDU will cheer me up, all I need now is for Amazon to send out my DR game and DR limited edition faceplate.
