View Full Version : How do you unlock the custom paint shop

A little help needed here folks, I need to know how you unlock the custom paint shop.
Ive found the standard one where you can respray using the manufacturers stock colours.
But can anyone tell me how to unlock the custom shop, it always tells me the location is locked?

I'm sure I read you have to be expert rank but I could be wrong. Maybe someone who's unlocked them could let us know for sure.

no tried it already already mate ive got expert rating.
drove to the shop all excited when i got it but no it was still locked.
could be somthing like you have to respray so many cars in the standard shop first and then in unlocks the custom one.
mite give it a try later but it would still be nice to know for certain, just to save me wasting my time you know what I mean.

Someone said that you have to do a event which is located inside the big crator. Once you done that, the custom paint shop unlocks. Not sure though.

What is this custom paint shop anyway? Can you put decals on your cars or something?

Ah around the crater, yeah i keep trying to do it but keep coming in second in my firebird.
I just dont seem to have the acceleration even when im neck and neck with the leader, he pips me to the post on after the last hairpin.

i have an aston martin that is red (a colour you can't get) and it looks stunning. Its 2 tonal as well

remember this isnt need for speed

rent a lambo muira from the hire car office inside the crater

There are 2 paint shops. A regular one, which you just have to find and the deluxe one, which you unlock by doing the 'round the crater race' as Craigie mentioned. The start of the race is by the deluxe paint shop, only open to class G cars. I used an old lambo to do all of the class G races.

In the regular paintshop, you can only paint your cars in the colours you can choose in the showroom. If it only comes in orange, the regular paintshop won't do anything for you.

In the deluxe paintshop you can paint any car any colour. There is a choice of normal or metallic paints. You can also get the TVR paint effect by choosing contrasting highlight colours for the metallic paint.

After I completed the round the crater race, first thing I did was respray the lambo. Ordered it at the garage, waited for it to come in stock and when it arrived it was...brown! I mean, what kind of colour is that for a classic sports car? It's now a lovely metallic dark red colour and looking much better for it :)

The simple fact is if you want to stick to original colors from manufac then goto regular paint shops. If you want to be a little more adventurous then go deluxe. Its to cater to everyones taste and it will keep many more people happy. At least it isnt NFS Underground or something pretty bad like that :p

We'd have an Aston Martin Vantage with chip shop lights under it before you could say, "chavtastic!".

Lovin it! lolblue: The fact is that some cars you just cant give the old multi metalic/pearlescent look. I mean you cant beat a vantage or a jag in a dark green or deep blue.. mmm nice lol even the Gallardo SE in lime green looks ok and its lime green fcol! lol

I REALLY need to know where the standard paint shop is, or I'll go nuts... I've found the deluxe one, but not the standard...
