Once the online trading is fixed me and another person will be starting an online dealership. We will be selling cars for a more than the dealers. We are now taking orders so if your intrested send a message to MosesIV, on xbox live listing the car you want, how soon you need it, and how much you're willing to pay.

How will you make money if you buy a car for $500k and sell it to someone for $400k. I think that the market on this game is basically to sell unwanted cars for low prices (a little higher than selling directly to a dealer).. not to make money so you will be basically buying cars for people and selling them at a loss.

i have to talk to my friends it might cost more though for rush delivery

we gotta make a profit somewhere

JayRL_UK
10-09-2006, 05:08
lol told ya.. heh

AFAIK you cant collect money in a club? so you will basically be buying a car of someone who has done many races to get that money to buy the car you are just about to buy from them at a cheaper price than dealership. Now no matter what you say this will not bring any profit.. only losses

You cant make profit on most cars as no1 will pay more than dealership price for a car. Your best best is sticking to cars you need to order.. but even then will they be in high demand?

Luken10

it doesnt matter if it is rushed. In a week or two is fine just name the price

JayRL_UK
10-09-2006, 05:17
Well i would pay 2.6m

Or save up and just buy one myself. Quicker and less hastle i would imagine.

Luken10

still alot

why is that like the the most expensive car in the game

JayRL_UK
10-09-2006, 05:20
I was having a convo today with a friend about the trade system and we both agreed that if the cars themselves had a certain lifetime (ie 10000 miles) it would allow people to sell low mileage cars for higher prices compared to high mileage cars. Servicing facilities could be introduced for people who want to keep there cars running instead of selling them on.

i would say it costs that much for this reason:

http://www.sportscarmarket.com/profiles/2005/May/English/index.html

"Price Guide Values
Year/Make/Model Low High

60-63 Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato $2,500,000 $3,000,000"

"I would guess that when the Forshaw family of Dorset, England, acquired the car pictured here in the 1970s, it must have set them back all of $15k-$20k. S/N 0190L was just a tired club race rig then, but by the time it was sold at the Brooks Goodwood Festival of Speed auction in July 1998, it brought just under $1.1m. And the appreciation curve was just beginning to steepen.

By 2002, the market price for these cars had further accelerated to $1.75m-$2.25m, and today we've blown past $2.5 million. The $2.6 million paid here is by far the highest price realized at auction for an Aston Martin. While this record will hold for today, it likely won't last through tomorrow. A few examples have brought slightly more money in private-party transactions ($2.85m and $2.9m), though both of those cars had fresher restorations and a slightly better pedigree.

The point is, expect the Zagato to break the $3m barrier soon. The interest and fascination with collecting cars at this level is at an all-time high, and there are just too many new faces with sacks of cash looking to fill their dream garages with these ultra-rare cars."

all the cars seem to be realistically priced in this game, and the db4 is no exception.... in addition, it keeps them rare. Why would you pay 3m for that car? exclusivity. you arent going to see many of them driving around online. It may not be the fastest, best handling car in the game, but that doesnt mean it isnt any fun to drive. I bought the Ferarri gto for 300k, as soon as i could after driving it in the transport missions. Despite the fact that it is seriosly outclassed by other cars costing the same, and doesnt help me in any of the single player or multiplayer races... and i havent, and probably wont tune it either.

also... did anyone notice next to the prices of some of the classic cars, there is a red arrow pointing up? perhaps this suggests that the real cars are still apreciating, and the prices in the game might eventually reflect this....

How low do you think you can get me a silver Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing? I'd be interested in that.

Its a good idea, and you could make profit doing it, aslong as your idea is like ..... buy second hand enzo for 200,000 .... sell it then for 250,000 etc. although to actually get all the cars at their cheapest you'll have to be checking the trade section quite regularly or else you'll miss all the bargains :)

MosesIV

i have to check regular price and what color you want and do you want it tuned

Interesting idea, however you would be competing against the many other unwanted cars. Does anyone know when the online trading will be working, I have a Sagaris I want to offload I have been hooning it around for a while now and now it just sits in my garage.

I want a Ferrari 250 GTO. I'm thinking the price of one of these will be well up there, even maybe exceeding the DB4.

Well, firstly you'd have to take the V12 out, then insert the 4.2 V8 from the Vantage and that would cost several hundred thousand........... lolblue:

Why would you put a V8 in a Vanquish.....?

CheesePlant
15-09-2006, 17:15
How is online trading going to work? At the minute it seems like you have to sell it at a set price? Also that price is the same price you get when selling to a offline dealership.

allmighteh
15-09-2006, 17:22
Nope its not, if you goto sell a vehicle, you get an option, Direct Sale (dealership price) or Put up for sale, this way you can choose a price to sell a vehicle for.
