View Full Version : Are there class-specific ranked multi-player matches?

As I understand it, you can not create your own ranked matches, but you can only join a ranked match as a Quick Match. All ranked matches I have seen seem to result in a mix of all car classes. Are there any class-specific ranked matches at all in TDU?

If you host your own at any given location you can use the filters to set a specific car, make or class. Sometimes other hosts do the same.

You can search for a "Custom" ranked match, once there, press X to set filters and there's a filter "Lock to my group" or something.

Unfortunately you can't specify if upgrades are allowed, I joined a D group race and found that the other cars had been upgraded but mine hasn't and therefore I didn't stand much chance of winning.

OK, I thought that all matches that are created by players are "player matches". Then how do you create a "ranked" match?

OK, then again my question: If you can not create a "ranked" match, then how can a ranked match be class-restricted?

Yes you can - when you go to multiplayer races you can create custom races and choose vehicle group etc in BOTH RANKED AND UNRANKED. I just checked. mdr1

I did not want to create a new thread for the sake of one question so I will ask it here:

Is there some kind of glitch being exploited with the times for races?

The reason I ask is that some of the times in the Rookie Class with the Audi TT seem ridiculously fast. I cant remember what race it was but the top rank was something like 39 secs and in the same car after many tries I could not get any faster than 56 secs.

Either way I am sure that the checkpoint system is open to exploitation to be honest. It is quite probable that shortcuts can be made. I've noticed that in certain races you can go through a checkpoint and then take a shortcut.

Cheats will always find ways around games. For this reason I never really worry about working my way up the rankings for single player modes.

I've noticed that quite a few of the challenges set by players can also be cheated on.

I guess its possible it was tuned but there is no way that I can see it in the rankings to find that info.

But some of the times seem slightly dubious to me which is why I thought that some glitch is being exploited.

I know most people are not interested in rankings but for me it provides an incentive to keep trying to better ones own times, upto a point that is, once I have tried as much as possible and improve no further then I leave it.

Just a thought about the tuning, some cars will change there class when tuned higher, not sure if that applies to the Audi TT though.

I agree with you. If the rankings were "cheat proof" then I would like to climb up the rankings. The annoying thing with cheats is that it makes you never know your "true" place in the world. I may only be in the top 5000, but if I am say number 4813, I want it to reflect that and not be 5384 because of 500 cheat times.

Because of this I mainly focus on beating my own score.
