Welcome to the Atari discussion forums!
Registration to this forum is free! We do insist that you abide by the rules and policies detailed below. If you agree to the terms, please check the 'I agree' checkbox and press the 'Register' button below. If you would like to cancel the registration, click here to return to the forums index.
Although the administrators and moderators of Forums Atari Europe will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages. All messages express the views of the author, and neither the owners of Forums Atari Europe, nor Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. (developers of vBulletin) will be held responsible for the content of any message.
By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violating any laws.

The guidelines and rules listed below explain what behavior we expect of you and what behavior you can expect from other member of this community. Please note that the following guidelines are not exhaustive and may not address all manner of offensive behavior. As such, the forum moderators shall have full discretion to address any behavior that they feel is inappropriate. Your access to these forums is a “privilege,” and not a “right.” Atari reserves the right to suspend your access to these forums at any time for reasons that include, but are not necessarily limited to, your failure to follow these guidelines.

We reserve the right to evaluate each incident on a case by case basis. The action we take may be more lenient or more severe than those listed under each category depending on the circumstances.

Please remember that the Atari forums are open to all ages and consequently we expect all members to act and express themselves in a way that is adequate to a young audience.

Racial/Ethnic
This includes both explicit and masked language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:

• Promote racial/ethnic hatred
• Are recognized as a racial/ethnic slur
• Allude to a symbol of racial/ethnic hatred

If a forum member takes part in such actions, he/she will:

• Be given a temporary or permanent ban from the Atari forums, depending upon severity

Extreme Sexuality/Violence
This includes both explicit and masked language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:

• Refer to extreme and/or violent sexual acts
• Refer to extremely violent real life actions
• Pornography

If a forum member participates in such actions, he/she will:

• Be permanently banned from the Atari forums

Real-Life Threats
This includes both explicit and masked language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:

• Refer to violence in any capacity that is not directly related to the game world

If a forum member takes part in such actions, he/she will:

• Be temporarily banned from the Atari forums
• Be given a final warning, any further Code of Conduct violations may result in a permanent ban from the forums

Distribution of Real-Life Personal Information
This includes:

• Releasing any real-life information about other forum members or Atari employees without their consent

If a forum member participates in such actions, he/she will:

• Be permanently banned from the Atari forums

Sexual Preference
This includes both explicit and masked language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:

• Insultingly refer to any aspect of sexual preference pertaining to themselves or forum members

If a forum member takes part in such actions, he/she will:

• Be temporarily banned from the forums
• Be given a final warning, any further Code of Conduct violations may result in a permanent ban from the forums

Posting Cheats, Hacks, Trojan Horses or Malicious Programs
This includes:

• Posting links to cheats, hacks, or malicious viruses / programs
• If you would like to report information regarding cheats or hacks to Atari, please contact a forum moderator by private message or email Atari uk.support@atari.com . Do NOT post it to the forums.

If a forum member is found to have participated in such actions, he/she will:

• Be permanently banned from the Atari forums

Impersonating an Atari Employee, a Moderator or Administrator
This includes:

• Passing yourself off as an Atari employee to post false information
• Passing yourself off as a forum Moderator to destabilize the community or undermine the Moderator’s position

If a forum member takes part in such actions, he/she will:

• Be temporarily banned from the forums
• Be given a final warning, any further Code of Conduct violations may result in a permanent ban from the forums

Posting Unreleased Content / Hacking Data Files
This includes language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:

• Show unreleased in-game features or images
• Discuss or display any data not available through normal game play

If a forum member participates in such actions, he/she will:

• Be permanently banned from the Atari forums

Obscene/Vulgar
This includes both explicit and masked language in posts, signatures, and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:

• Are an inappropriate reference to human anatomy or bodily functions
• Are pornographic in nature

If a forum member takes part in such actions, he/she will:

• Be given a temporary or permanent ban from the Atari forums, depending upon severity

Inappropriate language
This includes both explicit and masked language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:

• Are a mildly inappropriate reference to human anatomy or bodily functions
• Are otherwise considered objectionable
• Bypass the profanity filter
• using “*” as part of a swearword to bypass the profanity filter

If a forum member participates in such actions, he/she will:

• Be given a temporary or permanent ban from the Atari forums, depending upon severity. Repeated infringement of this Code of Conduct will result in a permanent ban

Flaming, Harassing or Defamatory
This includes both explicit and masked language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:

• Insultingly refer to other forum members, players, Atari and Atari employees, or groups of people either in the public forums or by private messaging
• Insultingly refer to other Companies

If a forum member participates in such actions, he/she will:

• Be given a temporary ban from the Atari forums, depending upon severity. Repeated infringement of this Code of Conduct will result in a permanent ban

Harassment takes various forms and it’s not limited to the type of language used, but the intent. Repeatedly targeting a specific forum member with harassment can lead to more severe action. The idea behind this is to prevent any one forum member from feeling consistently uncomfortable in the Atari forums.

Religions and/or Religious Figures
This includes both explicit and masked language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
• Negatively portray religions or religious figures

If a forum member participates in such actions, he/she will:

• Be given a temporary ban from the Atari forums, depending upon severity

National
This includes both explicit and masked language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:

• Promote national hatred
• Are recognized as national slurs
• Allude to symbols of national hatred

If a forum member participates in such actions, he/she will:

• Be given a temporary ban from the Atari forums, depending upon severity

Illegal Drugs or Activities
This includes both explicit and masked language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
• Refer to abusing illegal substances
• Refer to performing illegal activities, including piracy
• Refer to methods of circumventing copyright protection
• Refer to illegal copies of copyrighted music, movies, videos or any other type of media
• Ask for or provide illegal copies of copyrighted software

If a forum member participates in such actions, he/she will:

• Be given a temporary ban from the Atari forums, depending upon severity
• Be given a permanent ban from the Atari forums if promoting, divulging, advertising or encouraging piracy

Spamming and Trolling
This includes:

• Excessively communicating the same phrase, similar phrases, pure gibberish or same concept
• Creating threads for the sole purpose of causing unrest on the forums
• Causing disturbances in forum threads, such as picking fights, making off topic posts that ruin the thread, insulting other posters
• Making non-constructive posts
• Abusing the Reported Post feature by sending false alarms or nonsensical messages
• Posting messages intended solely to annoy/offend other users
• Provoking fans of a particular system or game
• Making misleading topic titles
• Asking obviously useless questions

If a forum member is found to have been spamming or trolling, he/she will:

• Be given a temporary or permanent ban from the Atari forums, depending upon severity

Creating Duplicate Threads
This includes:

• Creating threads about existing topics
• Creating a separate thread about an existing topic for further discussion in more than one forum

If a forum member is found to have been creating duplicate threads, he/she will:

• Be given a temporary ban from the Atari forums, depending upon severity

Advertising
This includes advertisement of:

• Any non-beneficial, non-Atari related businesses, organizations, or websites either in posts or signatures. Links to personal websites/blogs/fan sites may be permitted subject to permission obtained from a forum moderator. Links to charity appeals or good causes are permitted.

If a forum member is found to have been advertising, he/she will:

• Be given a temporary or permanent ban from the Atari forums, depending upon severity

Discussing Disciplinary Actions
This includes:

• Creating posts or threads to discuss disciplinary actions taken against a forum member, including private messages and email correspondence between a forum member and a forum moderator or Atari employee
• Posting email communication exchanged with Atari employees
• Creating posts or threads to discuss disciplinary actions taken against a forum member or account on the forums

If a forum member participates in such actions, he/she will:

• Be given a temporary or permanent ban from the Atari forums, depending upon severity

Circumventing a Suspension/Ban
This includes:

• Posting on another account
• Having someone post on your behalf

If a forum member participates in such actions, he/she will:

• Be permanently banned from posting on the Atari forums

Insubordination
This includes:

• Not listening to the ruling of a Moderator or Administrator.

Disregarding what they ask/invite/request you to do is against the rules and will result in a temporary or permanent ban

IMPORTANT
Repeatedly violating any part of the Atari Terms of Use or Forum Code of Conduct will result in permanent ban from the forums.
This policy is not language-restrictive. Language that falls under this policy will always be subject to the repercussions listed, whether it is inappropriate in English or any other language.
Our main objective is that the Atari forums should be a fun and safe environment for all forum members.
