411mph in a Corvette Z06, Is that ****ed up or what? How did that guy do it? Is he cheating?

A glitch maybe? I heard stories of cars that wheelie like bikes on AV Forums.

on one of the speed tests, let me check which one.... 170mph in Heavy Traffic, its right near the bottom right of the map.

a Z06 couldnt hit 411mph in freefall, let alone heavy traffic

I want to compete, but on a lot of races i either see ridiculous times, like half a minute under mine while there is straights only.. and even worse are the people who are doing 585 km's on some challenges...
This needs to be looked at as well at some point, unless it's a glitch of some sort, these people are obvious cheating then, and there is no fun trying to compete a speed challenge if they can get the final high speed so darned high...

Its a known glitch whether they are working on it is another point.. i mean will they restart the leaderboards or just snip the silly times of the top..

I think you can reach 411 mph on the cliff at the eastside of the island, where the E-sign is, just drive up the hill real fast and drive off the cliff. It happened to me last night, but maybe ur not gonna be able to reach 411. I dunno.
But even then, that has nothing to do with those races, so maybe some other glitches?
It is all down to lag. People with slower connections were lagging and causing them to skip forward making the game think they had travelled further in a shorter time hence the higher speed.

Hi Guys. My first post here :bravo: . I am glad somebody has brought attention to this. I was speaking to my friend last night and he was doing the afore mentioned challenge and got 5th in the rankings (doing 304Mph in a Saleen S7 Twin Turbo. That can't be right. The top speed for this car is 246Mph I can't see it doing 304Mph even when tuned. However that is another thread). He then pointed out to me that a Corvette was top of the leader board with 411Mph. This reduced a grown man to tears :cry: , as I love TDU. However the game has only been available in UK for 1 week and start seeing impossible speeds being achieved :mefiant: . SO I think it can only be 1 of 2 things:
1: There is a Super Secret car that can be unlocked by doing a Super Secret challenge. However this then begs the question 'Why have a car that goes that speed in a game like TDU, wich is based on real world cars?' :mefiant: This is not Burnout you know :rolleyes: If such a car does exists. That's fine I wont be knocking myself out to try and find it. The game to me and probably most of you guys is about 'driving'. Enjoying the scenery, the cars, the challenges etc and not trying to go as fast as I can and beat everybody in the bloody universe eekblue: .
2: The dude who achieved 411Mph is a sad lameo who has played for hours to just find an exploit in the game (plenty of these people exist in all games). So he is then able to be champion of the universe and have his 15 minutes of fame, even though he did cheat to do it :nono: He then should be banned from the game. Pressed ganged and then hung from the longest yard arm in Portsmouth dock to show others that cheating will not be tolerated :p
However I see that somebody has mentioned that this seems to be a bug in the game which is the best news because this can then be fixed and we can all then have an equal chance of getting on the score table :)
That aside at the end of the day I love TDU and think it is a great game :atari:
i guess that's one of the exploits that should have been adressed with the monday patch. or at least they seem to be working on them.
one way i to achieve those speeds as i heard was to bump into certain objects a specific way and that gives you a speed boost. so it's probably just abused physics.
i don't care about the leaderboards, though i realize that some people do. i hope this gets fixed so that you can enjoy regular highscores again.
Of course, it could be a rational explanation. TDU might be showing the speed as it's registered from the driveshaft instead of the wheels which would show upward spikes in speed in times of jumps or high revving.
It's the case in another sim-game I play. The driveshaft is spinning to speeds of 400mph maybe when there's little or no friction or when they're jumping off a cliff. :P
I don't know if it's the reason, just a plausible speculation. :)

my theory for this is that its the speed challenge, if theres load of checkpoints and hes going say 250 through them all then doesnt that give him a higher final speed?

Doesn't just average out the speed through the checkpoints?
If you did 250 through all of them, your average is still 250!

Nah that's not it...
I have done a challenge just now, and the guy on the first spot in the leaderboards has done a whopping 655 km/h with the corvette Z06!
I hope this will be looked at and that it will be sorted out properly.. maybe reset the leaderboards? or even better, weed out the scores who are obviously done with cheating or glitches...

in a inter-club race (which we win, always... no question, we always win) our front runner RR SWIFT was in his saleen and he went 300+, and all it is is when you have a dodgy connection (not sure how it works in single player) but on multi when peeps get bad ping fromm other countries it messes with where the car is, for some reason my enzo went to 280 and i had just clipped a car so i shuda been doing like 200 max, but anyways swift wen 300+ and on my screen was jumping around laggin to high heaven. On my screen it was a JUMP to 280 from 200, didnt inc in speed just jumped. Was weird.
Recond Rollerz 8th position. never lost. never will.
