?difference between the editions

Hello all,

I want to pre-order the game, but now I have to choose among.......Limited Edition - Chaotic Evil, Limited Edition - Lawful Good, NW2 CD-ROM, NW2 DVD edition

Is there some difference that I should care about between the CD-ROM and DVD?

Luckily, I just upgraded my computer so this game should play (I hope my video card will make it...)

It appears that it's only the packaging, no real difference between the various editions :)

Uhm... well since I was told that I can ask here *smiles* (thanks to tenebra to give me the info) I do ask here:

My question is about the Limited Edition "Lawful Good".
There was since it's knowledge about a figure called "Aspect of Bahamut" (a dragon-figure).
I do not know how it's about in UK (I was told though that the Collector's Editions are usually the same in whole europe) but since the PreOrder'Pack this figure suddenly and with no prewarning seemed to be changed into an "Eldritch Giant" (which looks like a half'drow/half'human barbarian with heavy armor (yes really so weird, heh) and anything but 'good'-alignement...)

I wonder - since I liked the dragon far more and it was part reason (not main reason, but still a part of it) of my decision to preorder this Collector's Edition - if anyone knows "why" it was changed?
Or - which would make me happy, heh - if that's just an mistake and teh dragon is still inside?

*would like the dragon inside the Lawful'Good-CE like it was a long time and still standing in the amazon-text of amazon.de*

Hi Guys. Thought i'd chip in with some official details on the NWN2 Limited editions:

Both packs will contain the following:

-Game on DVD
-Manual
-Dyptique CD: MUSIC, ARTWORK etc.
-A ring (Good/ Evil)
-Clothe map of the game world
-Leaflet depicting several evil/loyal characters stories from the game
-Art books (Good/Evil covers)
-One figurine (Good: ASPECT OF BAHAMUT (Dragon), Evil: MOUNTAIN TROLL)
-1 D&D Online Client with a 7 days free trial

Hope this clears things up. Obviously the LTD. Edition you pick up will dictate what content you get.

Just as an aside, i have seen the packaging that the ltd edition comes in and it is SPECIAL!! For a start it's a really imposing box, with a great look to it. Inside, all the various bits are beautifully presented with the inside cover of the box adorned with a pretty damn hot bit of artwork.

Believe me, it's ace.

Forget the question, just saw that Amazon.de now changed the text to "Eldritch Giant", too :cry:

as amazon.de explicitly promises you get the eldritch giant i would assume that's fixed. but perhaps you mixed up with information about the us limited edition. as far as i know there ist _one_ "limited edition" in the US, but _two_ "collectors editions" in the UK and presumably all around europe.

ok, there are different editions, but as far as i searched at the time beeing a dragon figurine is not contained in any of them. amazon.de changed the packaging information of the lawfull good edition from dragon to giant without a word, so it's uncertain whether it was a change of plan or just misinformation.

as for the us limited edition: this one doesn't carry any figurines, but then it has both rings (good & evil) within.

ooops, found one shop thoug, that lists the dragon figurine: http://www.ebgames.de/product_info.php?products_id=5087
but i still wouldn't rely on that, perhaps they got their information from the same sources as amazon, but "forgot" to correct them. if you really want to order there, make sure to save & print a copy of the website in it's current state so you can at least complain and send the pack back if you got the giant though.

The Ldt. Edition contains NWN 1 Fullversion.
Roumors say, that it will come with both official NWN 1 Add Ons.

Is that true ?

Well NWN1-Fullversion seems to be right, if the addons are in there, too... not heard anything official yet, so not sure about that point...
My personal oppinion: I don't think they will send the addons with it.

not in the north american version :( But I've read SOME euro versions do. Check your specific store to see if yours does.

as for the exp packs, not seen anywhere advertising that. Everywhere I've seen is pretty specific about only including NWN1. (again, that's only a few specific places, not everywhere)

And so does www.discshop.se, they also mentions something about a metal flask. Wonders if thats true?
