Lee, the head of UK PR at Atari, will be climbing the Kilimanjaro in October to raise money for the Entertainment Software Charity (a charitable arm of the UK computer games industry).

The ESC, whose motto is "Helping the youth of today achieve a brighter future", dedicate their efforts and funds to help disadvantaged children in the UK, Tanzania, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

If you wish to donate, here are the details Lee's adventure (http://www.justgiving.com/leekirtongonemad)

Every little helps.

Gee , maybe he is to busy planning this trip to make any kind of official statement about this mess. While I am all for good cause charities, maybe he should followup on his real job more....

well not all of us can work 24/7 and must have time off to function at all. If that time off is spent helping the greater good, my hat is off to him. I'll talk to hubby to see if we can afford a donation this month :)

1) Ever thought that maybe the official statement can't come from him? 2) Do you work 24/7, with no holidays whatsoever? 3) Do you spend your holidays raising money for charity?

I'll have to repeat myself, all sort of criticism is welcome but don't push it to the ridicule.

even if he had to take some time off for this project, it was well worth it. regardless of how miserable we feel because of what you call "this mess", believe me, there is _real_ misery outside your ivory tower. anyone dedicating some of his spare (!) time to help should get a lot more from us than selfish comments.

As I said, I am all for charities that help a good cause and have supported some myself. He deserves proper respect for his efforts in that endevour (if not for his job). I was very annoyed with Atari and he was to easy of a target. I take it back.
On that note, I wonder if Atari planned for this whole affair to happen over the weekend, when no one is available. I would still hate to be anyone that answers phones or filters emails at Atari (or Obsidian) on Monday.

CCAP12, I wonder if you'll ever grace us with a meaningful post. So far so bad. You don't have to hit the reply button if you don't have any contribution to make.
