180 MPH Downtown problems!

Hiya, I have already completed the 180 MPH downtown challenge and have been retrying it to make $75,000 to buy houses and cars etc. The prima guidebook recommends doing so, but I've run into a giant problem. For some reason sometimes when I click retry after being awarded the prize money the screen just goes black and freezes, and other times it will almost start the race and it will show a camera angle of my car waiting behind the starting line but the countdown never comes. Sometimes I can go several times and make a couple hundred thousand in prize money then it will freeze one of those two ways and when I restart the game I've lost all my money! I'm not sure what in the world is going on but I checked the disc for a possible scratch and there's not a scratch on it, I haven't even taken the disc out of the xbox 360 since I first put it in :( Also it doesn't say that I'm not connected to the TDU server, so I have no idea what it could be. But something is very very wrong! :nono:

Ur not the only one.. i've heard this before. And i guess it'll be fixed on Atari's next update.

How do you ge tthat challenge? Ive prob got it but havnt looked hard enough?

A way to fix that is to press the guide button.
And by the way, it doesnt happen only on that race. There are several others in which if you restart the race quickly, the screen turns black or you see your car standing next to the start line and have to wait a long time before the race starts.

Yep happened to me on the 170mph in heavy traffic a few times, i soon noticed it only happened when i hit retry before the prize money is fully deposited, therefore never had this prob with the 180mph one. :wink2:

it does the same exact thing for me, just wait 30 seconds and it usually goes to the race but when you finish the race wait like a second after the trophy screen theen wait like 5 seconnds before you restart. I do that and t hasnt done it to me since. mdr1

yea same hereeee, i thought i messed my game up or something. it shows the behind of my car then goes black then comes on after 30 odd seconds. its happeed a few times today never happened b4

That happened to me but I knew why, when the live service was a bit funny the other day for some reason nobody on my fl had any gamerscores or gamer pics, plus I couldn't even send a message to anyone, yesterday there was a similar problem. And it was affecting tdu in the way of black screens and freezing for a few mins), then starting the race. All I did was turned off my modem and it was fine.

The 180m downtown is a great race for making money, I made about 4 million in less than half an hour...lol

I am still having this, but only with cars that have the 2 colour custom paint job.

For all standard colours it never does it. Try it and see if yours is the same.

I've had this happen to me a few times, with a variety of cars. Only started happening yesterday though. When TDU started, it said there was an update, but the screen just went black for a while, like at the start of these races. No update was downloaded though, as far as I could tell.

Also had a friend visible on a single player challenge, which was a bit odd. Especially as they could interact with the other traffic!

As for the race, it's easier if you just turn round and go the other way. You don't have to go the way it suggests as there are no checkpoints.
