View Full Version : Internet gone crazy (in a good way)
I don't know how your ISP works, but mine provides me a 4MB internet connection (4MB downstream/512upstream). Usually my download speed is +/- 100kB/s, sometimes it's 150 and I make a party :chapeau: others it's 50kB/s... But today I was looking for an old version of MSN Messenger and found it on the Microsoft and dowloaded it. I'm using Mozilla Firefox without any download manager, and I've configured the download window to immediatly closes after the download completes... So, I was at the MS site and pressed the download button to get the installer for version 7.5, and then the download window appears and closes imediatly... I checked the directory where I saved it, and there it was, an 8Mb installer... eekblue: in 2 seconds...eekblue: I tried to download others versions of Messenger, and picked up this scrennshot... First time I smelled a little bit of how powerfull a 4MB connection can be, but I'm sure it's the last one... I don't think this will happen anymore, 100kB/s for life...
So, how fast is your Internet connection?

Guess what. We're leaving AOL! After many years of what I believe was just plain nonsense, were finnaly moving ISP this month. tonguegre
Were switching to Utility Warehouse or somthing, which offers us 8mb for the same price as AOL's 1mb, but im not sure if we will get that much out here. 40 GB download a month. And because we don't have any of AOLs stupid wont-let-you-share-connection-via-wireless-cause-we-want-you-to-pay-more-issue, we can finally hook up every PC in the house.
Funk on! :)
Anyways...
Not as fast as yours, sadly.......
Just to make it clear, I only got 3MB/s (not 30MB/s davie :p ) of download in a very special occasion. Normally the speed is between 50kB/s and 100kB/s, I which it was allways 3MB/s...
I just wanted to find out if in other countries people who have an "up to 4MB" connection, or other broadband connection, got the same downloading speed than me (100kB/s), or not, if it's nearer the top limit... :mefiant:
