well i finally got my 360 today! (might have to give it back anyway tho... its only got a 14 gig harddrive... i feel a bit cheated!)

so... i played the game a bit... well... until i got a headache...

and im loving it!

just two things... one: for some reason i have to play it in widescreen to make it look good (i only have a normal tv btw... not HDTV or widescreen... but without widescreen it looks like PS2 graphics)

and two: the game doesnt really fit my screen... the gear number (when viewed from inside the car) is halfway outside the screen and the H in KM/H is completely outside...
any way to fix this?

You need to adjust some kind of settings.......I'm not exactly sure which ones though...... :mefiant: :noooo:

You can change the screen options for your tv or just go into settings on the 360 dashboard. And about the quality without HD, i know.. it's quite average.. but yes it helps when you put it in widescreen.

its rare to fill the harddrive (all 14gb) anyway. considering that many broadband companies cap their download limit at around 2gb per month it would take 7 months to fill it with downloads. then consider that the demos (if you choose to download them) will probably be deleted after a few goes on them. you can make the 14gb last for a long time (unless you are a hardcore power-user)

Congrats oddball, i set mine up yesterday... i got some good advice for you, if you realy want to make it easier, as soon as you finish getting your house and car, do a trip all the way round the edge of the island, will be so much easier in the long run

i did it... and only clocked up 150 miles though. i thought better to do it while im still staring at the scenery than try to do it if i get bored (which i very much doubt i will)

congratulations, it is a great game, but be warned this game may eat your life, i think about what im gonna do in the game while im in work in real life! and if you plan to sit and have a quick 1hrs gamiing on, b4 you know it 3 hrs later you realize the time

Yes I know Your problem. I think most people here are just telling you, what they havn't actually tried out. I have a widescreen, but it was hurting my eyes too much so i bought the VGA HD cable and plug it into my monitor for my PC :) .

My monitor is square, not widescreen, so i have experienced this, Also, i just brought the game o my friends house round the other day .. He played it and liked it, and just bought it today. ..but, he has a normal tv like you, and i did notice what you were saying.

From My experience, the settings in the dashboard do change it to square screen. But thats in the dashboard only, some games, override these. The games i've tried are test drive, dead rising and saint row. Both dead rising and test drive change it to widescreen automatically, I can't find any way to change this. saint row however.. used the dashboards settings and ran square:). So I think its.... just like newish games on pc... take what they want from the system and use it. What i mean by this is some games on PC. they may turn fsaa & other featues on or off, even if you have enabled them on control panel. Its just how the devs saw fit and made it. So I think its the same case here. The company has only made the game in a widescreen mode and the normal square isn't supported. BUT.. i could be wrong. jsut my thought on it.
