Game crashes at Character creation

Wondering if i can get some help here. I have a Geforce 6800 video card. running .net Frameworks 2.0 and have DirectX 9.0c. No idea why i can't get to the character creation screen. also crashes if i select a premade character and try to start the campain. Any ideas on what i may be missing/ needing? ~ Thanks

I dont know what the problem might be....try instaling new video card drivers or try reinstalling the game
