Problems with my trade

I am having problems with my trade windows. My buy tab seems to be greyed out even though the sell tab is white. I am on xbox live silver if thats the cause but is anyone else having the same problem/have a solution?

cant play online with silver

have to go online to buy a car

but you dont have to go online to sell one

Thanks, i have put my 48 hour gold trial on and i still cant buy but i suspect its parental restrictions which are not even meant to be on my console weirdblue
