About the PC beta [Archive] - Forums Atari Europe

If you download the PC beta (don't have to register) you can see that in the files there are a lot of cars that aren't in the game. This means that they'll be on the final PC version? I don't think you can drive them in the Beta, but I think that they'll be ready on the disk in February when the PC version comes.

To see these cars download the Beta (you don't have to register to anything).
Then go to Test Drive Unlimited folder, open Euro, then open Bnk folder, then open Vehicules, then open Rim folder and you will see files a lot of interesting cars that aren't on the X360 version yet.

Like the Ferrari 612, Cadillac Cien and Sixteen. And the Manuafacture Brabus!!! There' also the Edonis and a lot more check these out.

I'm hoping that these cars are on the PC disk because Tenebra confirmed that the PC version won't have DLC.

You can download it at Fileplanet. But you have to login. Even with the free login you can download the Beta, and free IGN account also works. But you can only download, not play with the free account. You have to pay to get the code and play the Beta.

BTW in the files there is also: Ferrari F40, Saturn Curve and a third Zonda, chrysler Crossfire SRT-6, Cadillac CTS-V, Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR, CITROEN!!!, Audi A3, Mazda MX-5, Mazda RX-8, Alfa Romeo Brera, Caterham R500, Yes Roadster, Ferrari 360....

And in the Bnk/FrontEnd/HiRes/Gauges folder you can find files called Quattroporte, Solstice, Yes, Cobalt, Speed T, SLK 350, McLaren GT, G35, 360 Stradale!!!!, Lotec.....

No there wasn't any NDA agreement. I didn't even pay for any subscription. I just downloaded the free BETA. I'm not a beta tester, I can't play the beta because I don't have the key, but I can look at the folders.

I sincerely hope that the PC and PS2 version don't get all the cars of the 360 plus all the DLC cars included on disc as this would just be unfair. I like the sound of the 360 CS though, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.

Where would the Countach be?

I see a 350Z, but it only refers to vinyls and previnyls. It doesn't have all the other files which means there's something on the 350Z that was implemented, but not the whole car.

I don't even see a Countach though.

From what LabaLaba says though, I believe him. Each of his cars excluding the Brabus matches exactly what Atari Germany sent Streetwise.

BTW, you got the Alfa Romeo Sprint in the Ascari. :wink2:

I can't anything on an Alfa Romeo Eleganza, however, the Sprinter is real.

2cv - Not likely, though it is developed by eden (french company), and maybe they felt a need to put a french car in, still abit iffy though.

Default - The default car, for cars that havent been downloaded, guessing there will be a download system

Ford 'T' - Please say there will be no model 'T' not exactly quick is it, perhaps the SL55 (gullwing) will have something slower than it (at long last!)

Gramlights - Eh?

Koenigsegg files - No CCX, sorry to dissapoint

if the atari people have a bit brain in there head they woud figure out that would be very stupid cause the key would go on the web in no time.

also keep in mind that it aint guaranteed that you get key if you pay for a membership... if so i would feel ripped-off big time.

if you DO get a key, its only 2,5 $ for an amazing game ...

Oh and they didn;t break any NDAs coz the download is available to everyone and you don't have to agree to anything to download it or extract it...

Actually, a 2CV could be likely. 1 person did ***** a list given out by I believe Vibro.

The files do not represent all the vehicles. Read them. They most likely contain parts of the vehicle.

Gullwing is a 300SL.

Gramlights is just as weird as the 4 Kawasaki folders. BTW, that might be Maybach as they do produce a 57S, the sportiest car they've produced excluding concepts.

Sorry, nobody has ever mentioned CCX to be in TDU. So, it's legit.

LM002 is not going to be in. It was part of the licensing agreement.

This WAS made before the Lexus line-up was revealed you know.

You really need to find a better way to contradict an official beta.

There is no Quattroporte in this list and someone said that s/he saw the file.
You can find a file called Quattroporte.bnk in the Test Drive Unlimited/Euro/Bnk/FrontEnd/HiRes/Gauges. In that folder there are a lot of other files, including: Quattroporte, Solstice, Yes, Cobalt, Speed T, SLK 350, McLaren GT, G35, 360 Stradale!!!!, Lotec.....

the only bad thing is that it might be a bit of a spoiler to people who dont want to know yet.

The Gramlights 57s.
I don't think it's the Maybach 57s. Gramlights is a rim manuafacture and 57s is one of their models. So it's a wheel/rim for some car.

There is a NDA if you are signed up for the BETA. There was nothing in the Read-Me about not disclosing what files the download contained.

No, we just downloaded it off Fileplanet. Theres nothing to say we cant say info like this. We didn't sign any form/NDA.

by the way, everyone knows you just scroll down and check the "i agree" box and hit the next button. (if it would be present but it isnt)

its also naïve to think that none of the beta testers will leak info.
if they do and they find out they get taken of the game and the rights to test it.

But the bottom line is: there are no beta testers here who leak info.
they havent tested the game, they arent registerd as testers so how can they leak info than??

the carlists have been released anyway.
and i can guaranty you that the carlist in the beta IS NOT the final list of the release. The beta is to test. It istn the real game. so it will change no doubt about it.

And if you excuse me now, i have figure out a way to get a mastercard or somthing to get a damm key to this beta.

I just don't see the relevance to the X360 game, we can't play u, u can't play us and its coded differently so everything on the pc has no relevance to the x360.

I have tried to signup and download the BETA but when I press the link for to go and download the beta from Fileplanet I get http://www.fileplanet.com/betas/tdu_key_auth.aspx#. I cant signup because I dont have a beta password. Also in that page the NDA is displayed and you have to pass that page to download the demo.

Here is what the NDA says

ATARI BETA TESTING AGREEMENT
April 3, 2005

Thank you for agreeing to participate in the beta testing program for Test Drive Unlimited (the "Game") to be published by Atari, Inc. or its affiliate ("Atari") and developed by Eden Games. This is an unusual opportunity for you to experience an exciting game or range of games before its/their release to the general public. This document shall serve as an agreement (the "Agreement") between you and Atari with regard to your participation in the beta testing program for the Game. Please read it carefully.

1. Testing Services. You will have the opportunity to access and play the Game. Atari requires that you provide feedback regarding your game-play experience, including issues such as usability, bug reports, overall impressions, and any other information relating to the Game (the "Feedback"). If you fail to provide adequate Feedback, Atari may terminate this Agreement. You agree that you shall receive no compensation for participating in the beta testing program. This Agreement shall commence on the date above, and shall continue in effect until you have completed testing the Game and provided all Feedback to Atari, or until the initial commercial release of the Game, or until terminated by Atari. Atari may terminate this Agreement at any time without notice to you.

4. Facilities. All your testing shall be done at your own facilities, and all necessary supplies, including appropriate computer equipment, shall be supplied by you. Atari agrees to provide to you appropriate software and access codes to Atari's beta test site, as may be reasonably necessary in order for you to test the Game and perform your obligations under this Agreement.

5. Protection of Confidential Information. During the course of performing your obligations under this Agreement, you may have access to computer software, game concepts, storylines, methods, features, business methods or other technical or business information which is not generally known and which is proprietary to Atari or to parties affiliated with Atari ("Confidential Information"). You agree to treat as Confidential Information all information concerning the Game or of which you are otherwise made aware in connection with performing your obligations under this Agreement, including without limitation, the Feedback, and any technical or business information Atari may provide to you in connection with this Agreement, regardless of whether it is specifically designated as confidential and regardless of whether it is in written, oral, electronic, or other form. The Confidential Information may include, without limitation, trade secrets, know-how, inventions, game interfaces, technical data or specifications, testing methods, business or financial information, research and development activities, product and marketing plans, and customer and supplier information. You agree that you shall maintain all Confidential Information in strict confidence; you will not disclose Confidential Information to anyone other than an Atari employee or an Eden Games employee, or discuss Confidential Information with anyone except within the game itself or on the official beta boards; and will use all Confidential Information only for the purposes stated in this Agreement. You agree to maintain all the Confidential Information in confidence during the term and after termination of this Agreement, and agree not to disclose or permit access by any third party to any Confidential Information, unless Atari in writing expressly permits you to do so.

6. Ownership. You agree that all right, title, and interest to the Feedback, and any inventions relating to an improvement of the Game conceived or made as a result of your participation shall be Atari's property, and may be used and disclosed by Atari for any purpose. To the extent that any portion of your Feedback is protectable by copyright, you agree that it has been specially ordered and commissioned by Atari and is a "work made for hire", and that Atari shall be considered the "author" of the Feedback and the sole and exclusive owner throughout the world of copyright in the Feedback. In the event that any portion of the Feedback is protectable by copyright but does not qualify as a "work made for hire", you hereby assign and agree to assign to Atari all right, title, and interest in and to the copyright in the Feedback or in any portion of the Feedback. 7. No Alterations/Return of Material. 8. Remedies. You acknowledge that if you breach any of the provisions of Paragraphs 5 or 7, Atari would suffer irreparable damage. 11. Miscellaneous. You agree that you shall be acting as an independent contractor and shall not be considered, or represent yourself as, an agent, employee, joint venturer, or partner of Atari. This Agreement shall be binding upon and inure to the benefit of Atari's respective successors and assigns, however, you may not assign this Agreement, in whole or in part, without Atari's prior written consent. Im just backing up another guys point that the NDA rules were broken. I myself am happy to see the Beta content. I judt would rather it was a public beta instead of a beta for paid customers at Fileplanet. I wonder will the beta testers get a discount , because after al you could consider this as a paid for beta by the customer.

I the idea wasn't to split the forum up it was to have sperate sections one or PC, one for Xbox, one for PSP and one for PS2. Just throught it would be easier to find the relevant information for you platform.

Reduce the number of threads that you had to go through.

And yes I agree the forum was slowing down but it not because of this kind of thing. Its because there is no information coming out of it, ppl have stopped organising cruises and the like through the forum.

And I cann't remember the last time Atari gave us any offical information in her on the current issues with the game.

e.g - Lost game data, DLC pack 2 patch 3

But i'll tell you what as it seams I have offended lets say alot of ppl nvm forget the idea and the next one's I have I'll keep them to myself and not try and more the forum along.

1. nothing has been "leaked," everybody can download the beta, only subscribers can request the key.

Some of the people here are very naive. Do you honestly think that Atari didn't expect for some informations about beta to leak??? Of course they did, that is one of the reasons why the must have released the beta. Now everybody is talking about it and speculating. That is what we call publicity and it is great to have one even if it might not always good one (some bugs will show up in beta).
