Anyone else experienced the road turning into water. Trying to do the round the island race and 4 times the road has turnt into water. Causing me to lose first place each time and it takes about 10-15 secinds to finish loading (not sure what it decided to load halfway through a race) then Im back on the road and away again.

Checked the disc and its as clean as a whistle, xbox is pretty hot, wondering if that has anything to do with it.

It's most likely just lag, when your driving too fast the graphics can't keep up with the speed of your vehicle... it has happend to me too and it sucks

yup, got it a couple times in a race too, it was the one near the second airport, a small one, but not the airfield....yup, restarted the whole car...

one time it was worse, glad that wasnt in a important race, i was cruising very fast with my gallardo convertible in the city area, then i suddenly dropped into the ground, then i could get anything to work, it was dead, luckily, got the game saved, and it was nothing that bad...though there was no red lights of red death...lucky me!! :bravo:

For me it happens in 2 places but it's easy to beat, all you have do is release the gas for about a second and the game catches up with you. It's apparent in 2 places for me though, the long stretch of 4 way highway that goes past the golf course and a 3 lane highway near the top of the map. Seems to happen when doing more than 220mph in these areas.

can TDU not fix these glitches in the game, it happened to me before, i drove of the edge of the road and got stuck between two motorways in the air

I don't think they can fix it. It's just that the game can't load the road fast enough. Ofcourse this could have been fixed if they designed the game to load the physics of the road before the graphics.

It's alot of stuff to load quickly, as well as the road and background with tree's and houses etc, plus the other cars on the road... It's not major, I've experienced it a couple of times but I don't care, it's not that bad.

I experienced it about 4 times by half the race. Having said that Ive taken the xbox out of the cubby hole under the tv so it doesnt get as hot and it hasnt done it since.

Perhaps the heat forces the Graphics card to slow down...just a theory but mines working fine now...

Something similar happened to me, I was running from the police on my MV Agusta at about 211mph and then the road kinked and I flew into a house, and it took ages for it to reset me for some reason. I'd say at least 34 seconds.

I've had this happen to me a couple of times. Both in the same area. It seemed to occur the second time when loading other players cars. A number of players popped online nearby (I joined a session?) and suddenly I ran out of road.

Could it be because the 360 is reading the car data from one part of the disc and doesn't have enough time to read the terrain data from another part of the disc?

Another factor which would also support my theory is that it has never occurred during a single player mission (for me), including the round the island mission. Although this could also be due to clever caching because the game knows where you are supposed to be going.

This happens quite often to me as well. Just change your view and it goes back to normal....

Only ever happend to me once while i was cruising around the race track.
I wasnt driving very fast but my x-box was quite hot though but since i added the external cooling fans i have never had the problem.

It has happened to me too - and it does seem to happen more when the 360 is running hot - it is a pity there isn't an option to allow you to cache more of the terrain on to the hdd - like even as a choice being able to put all the terrain files on your 20 gb hdd (i realise it would take up at least 4gb but for smooth play with little pop up it would be worth it).... i don't imagine the pc version has the same problem (can anyone confirm this who has played the beta?)
