On the pack of the Hard drive, it says 20GB, except when i start it up i only have 14.6 GB, i have deleted all the Music and games and i still only have 14.6 GB I don't believe that 5.4G is reserved for system use
Please help i paid a lot of money for it and i would like the full 20GB as i download a lot of stuff.
Thanks
Phil

What about those people on Ebay who sell instruction sets on how to up it 120 GB- is it worth investing in one of them :hin:

the console comes with a 20gb hard drive as stated, and it comes pre-loaded with the OS, whats the problem.
do you buy a computer with a 200gb hard drive pre-loaded with windows XP and then complain you havnt got 200gb free space? no
I find it funny that you deleted all the free stuff that comes with it and still had the same amount of free space.

Plus they use some of it for "buffer" for games, don't they? I know the original xbox did that, think that has 3 partitions with 700mb in each.

Yeah that pretty much it, I still think it would be better to say 15 GB though, Don't mind too much though cos 150 GB HD is coming soon:D But I'm gonna be in a right fuss transferring my shite all over the place dark:

What about the core pack. They don't have the harddrive so that 5 gig can't be the os as that will be built into the console. The harddrive should just be for extra storage, like a massive mermory card.

It does use something for buffer because I read a review for Oblivion and it said it's noticably faster with the HDD.

i got the core. bought the hd after and it dose not have 20gb. anyway that extra space is being used some how... i guess u cant have the harddrive full full full. My bud says always its important for the pc to have extra 10 gb of free space. dont know about the 360

Guys the Hdd have 20 gbs, but only 14 o 15 are usable by the user, the other gb are for cache use, system updates and the DLCs of the games

Yeah, the 6gb of space is for the buffer ... it makes the games easier to load ... so we don't have to wait for things. I don't have a problem now, but it would be nice to upgrade the drive to a 120gb ... yeah ...

I asked one a question and he says you have to connect your 360 to a PC via ethernet. So really you are just using the PC hard drive for the console.
