It would be awesome if Atari/Eden would release a patch or downloadable update that would enable system link in Test Drive Unlimited. I'd be willing to pay for a feature like that.
It'd be great to be able to tour the island and race with friends that have the game without going online. My internet is too slow to play online for very long and system link has always been something I've enjoyed doing.
I can't imagine it being impossible to implement a LAN feature. I've never known much about how the game's code works, but it seems like the patch might be able to do it.
If the update included a server that would launch if the TDU Servers weren't available and it would check the network for available TDU local servers, maybe it could be done. It would be like an if/then statement. If TDU Servers are unavailable, then launch the server and scan for open local servers. It'd also be great if the PC version would work cross-platform with the XBox 360 version.
I'd love to see a system link feature. I hope that if it can't be done in TDU, they'll try and put it into TDU2.
