View Full Version : Is there an ETA for the FF Wheel update?

well, I got an MS Wireless wheel, and after messing around with the PGR3 that ships with it, I went back and TRIED it in Test Drive with Wheel and linearity settings turned on in the game.

Abysmal is the only word that can describe the current wheel support. A dead zone in the middle is the primary culprit (no such zone exists in PGR3 -- so presumably it's the software's fault).

When can I expect relief on the TDU front? I know it's supposed to be January, but are we talking early, middle or late?

Thanks

Randy

Damn, thinking of getting one, mate of mine is buying my PGR3 for £30 (he owes me bad) so I'd thought I'd jump ship down to game and get one.. My old one was alot of fun but was a real pain in the *** for TDU (Well only for using the map function when you try and get somewhere)..

Just as a matter of interest - how are you moving around the map using the wheel at present?

A Controller or the D-pad and teleporting to the closet point, race, person, garage etc then moving the wheel to the right or left to goto the road rather than the event!

I hated setting aside TDU, but I really want to have fun with my new wheel and using the MS Wireless with TDU right now is nothing short of painful....

So I went back and finished solo mode in PGR3 -- pretty nice, except for the dumb feature where putting a wheel in the dirt slows you down like glue, why brake when you can put a wheel off right before the turns....

On the other hand, looking at PGR3 with fresh eyes after weeks of TDU, I can say that the graphics of the exteriors and cars are definitely sweeter and at a higher frame rate than TDU. TDU could definitely use a PGR facelift in terms of detail, but TDU destroys PGR in cockpit view coolness.

I agree - what annoys me in PGR 3 is the whole drifting and cone type races - I find them rather boring. The replays look amazing compared to test drive though.

I know this might sound like a newbie question but as far as drifting goes I am a newbie. I can't seem to get drifting happening in PGR 3 via the wheel - has anyone got any suggestions as to what car to use and how to drift?

Can't wait for the 3rd update for TDU so that I can use the wheel with it properly...

i prefer tdu with wheel as it is at the minute, i have no problems with it. I have set it up so it drives pretty nice.
so when the update comes out it will be even better mdr1

the official wireless xbox 360 steering wheel was built in collaboration with Forza Motorsport 2. So, dont fret if it's not all you expected it to be yet. I think it's pretty nice with PGR3, and somewhat dissapointing with TDU. Losing the functionality of the thumb sticks isn't very nice as they really do alot in games like these. How about maybe using a control pad for map screens etc????

I say buy one, buy a good racing seat and buy Forza 2 when it's released.

I agree about PGR 3 - it is pretty nice - except for the fact that the green A button is your handbrake and I find that hard to get to when using manual gears and turning the wheel.

I guess I'll have to use a controller to use the map possibly until the 3rd update for tdu comes out...
