Hi, new and some questions about this great game

Hi, I got the game for christmas on the xbox360

It's fun, but I'm really missing some cars here like bmw,Porsche(or ruf) and Bugatti and so on ... I found some threads here where you guys talk about downlaoding new cars ...
1) is it possible to download them with a computer and put it on the xbox with a usb-stick or something? because I don't have a internet connection with my xbox.
2)Where can I find these cars?
3)Do you unlock new challenges as you progress through the game? because it doesn't seem like there are alot of challenges(and it aren't exactly bigmoneychallenges :( )
4)I saw people talking 'bout a Speedway... what is it and where is it? In case they mean the little Island, I can't go there yet(I think...)

1) no not really... but it shouldnt be hard to connect your xbox to the internet if you can connect your computer...
2) on the xbox live marketplace, under game downloads and then test drive unlimited.
3) yes you do... first of all you unlock challenges that you dont see yet when you discover new roads on the island (just drive around on all the roads you havent driven on and youll find new challenges) and then again, new challenges are also gonna pop up when you go up in level (from pro to champion for example)
4) well the speedway could be anything... there IS a racetrack, but you have to be champion to go there (i think)... its right next to the big airport... but the speedway might also be the long strech of road in the middle of honolulu that everyone goes dragracing on... but i dont know... never heard anyone call anything a speedway in this game...

ps. the cops go away when you play online... so fix that connection of yours...

I can easily put a internetcable into my xbox ... but I don't have xbox Live (atleast I don't think so) Do I have to pay to be able to download new cars?

I'm only 'expert', so I'll wait and see when I have reached Champion

Check your network connection first. There is a network connection test screen in the System blade on the Xbox dashboard.

If your connection is ok then sign up for Xbox Live: Just follow the on-screen instructions to do this and you will automatically be signed up for the silver account. Depending on your Xbox package you may even be offered a 1 month trial of the Gold service. You need a Gold account to play online so if you want to do this then you will have to purchase a subscription at some point.

The car packages cost 350 Microsoft points each. The prices are stated on the Xbox marketplace download list.

no you can only download the cars on your xbox in the marketplace.
for some of the downloads you need to buy microsoft points, there cheap enough though.

I just put a network cable in it and run the test ... it says everything is OK, except for xbox live ... :s

what do I have to do? I thought I'd to go through kind of a registration ... but it just sais I can't connect :(

OK, you should just be able to "connect to xbox live" from the startup screen and follow the instructions to sign-up for a Silver account. You'll need to setup a Windows Live ID (https://accountservices.passport.net/ppnetworkhome.srf?lc=1033) if you don't already have one.

but, Now I'm online ...you can't win any money by entering online challenges? :/

and you guys organise cruises ... but you can't chose the server you connect with ...(or something like that) ...am I right?

And I really don't see how I'm supposed to get Champion :/ I mean ... there are only a few challenges left (I've done all the challenge-achievements, except for the last achievement-reward) ,
I still have to do a lot of Missions ... but none of it will give me enough G's to go to Champion :(

any tips?

A challenge won't show up on your map until you have driven on the road it's located on. The roads that are represented by a dark greyish colour are the ones you haven't driven on. Drive on more unexplored roads and you will find the challenges - going on a cruise is the best way of doing this :)
Some kind soul posted a challenge location map on here not so long ago so if you use the forum search you should be able to find a link to it.

It's not that difficult to find people if they are added to your XBL friends list. Go to the players display on your map and use the filter to display friends only. Just highlight their icon on the map and press A and you should warp to them if their session isn't full and your connection is ok. It helps if you meet in an area that's not densely populated by other players (ie. Waikiki drag strip or around the racing circuit).

When you're on the track, and racing some guys ... and I go change my car (because mine was much slower) and I come come back ... everybody is gone ... and the ones I was racing before , I won't see them again :s how does it exactly works with the servers and stuff?

I've already had some friendsrequest ... but how do you end up in the same game with them when you reconnect ?

and what is that session-thing en 'lock' mode ??

Finding friends should be relatively easy. When in the map function, tab along to players. Then filter to show friends only. I think that is by pressing x. Select your friend on the map and hey presto! Sometimes takes a few attempts if the server is full (8 players) or if it says N/A next to their name on the map, they may be in a challenge, house, or locked the server.

If you are getting bored, complete every challenge and reach ACE level. (1000 achievement points).

What you do to really extend the life of the game is to find all those tiny twisty curvylittle roads and a few people who know how to drive them. LIke myself for example. haha.

Seriously though, the real pleasure seems to be (for me at least) is just to cruise round with other drivers. It's proper chillin, especially when you find people who don't feel the need to go everywhere at 200+ mph.

That's my tuppenceworth anyways..

Try and find my online sometime dude and we'll go for a cruise..
