no, you need to be a new customer, although that doesnt mean you're going to get a code.

My GF has been waiting since the start of december for a code ....

Since when did BT care about the customers they already have? Once they have you on a contract, that's all they care about.
When your contract comes to an end, they may offer you all sorts to get you to stay if you threaten to migrate to a rival ISP. If your contract renewal is coming up, ask them for the Zonda Roadster code and unlimited bandwidth to stay. My mum forgot to ask them for the code (grrrrrrr), but we have unlimited bandwidth, a home hub and that cordless phone (for free).

Yer, this is BT who have that advert a few year back saying they care for existing customers as much as the new ones with Clarkson presenting it, now they just ignor us.

Indeed. I'm on a 2mb connection and been getting downloads of 16-50kbps for the past 6 months. And it's my fault apparently.

they told us that they tested the line and that we could have 7meg and over

Crazed_Dodgem

Nothing but bad experiences with BT when stuff goes wrong..not only is there a significant language barrier, but the people on the other end don't have a clue what your talking about in the slightest, all they've been trained to do is follow a flow chart..

They're okay when they're taking your money - phone them up to change the line to another house and they do it with minimal fuss, but something dead simple like the router they sent being faulty, or the battery cover missing off the homehub phone, and you end up in a 20 min arguement with the guy on the other end.

you are very lucky with that.

my dad is a Managing director at a VoIP company, and he just asked a couple of techinicians what could be wrong, all of them said the same, but BT just insisted on doing a line test.

ok. line test done.

they should ring me back.

next day i ring them up asking why those *%^& didnt call back.

'well im sorry, i was very busy'.

'yeah so am i, im losing money every second now because you cant get your company working properly.'

' i am very sorry to hear that, we will do an line test and'

(me stopping them) 'yes, but you already done 4 line tests this week!?'

'yes but we are not sure if it was done correctlly sir'

(very pissed of again) 'so you cant just see from your "%£^ monitor where the "£$^"£ problem is you $£"% idiot?'

(very rude to me) 'this phonecall is recorded so if you dont stop the swearing i will end the phone call and tell this to my manager'

'go ahead and F!$%!% do that you $!£%!"% indian !"£$%!£%^$£%!!$£ !$%!"$%$ !£%!£$% !!!!!!!!!!!!!'

this happend atleast 2x a day....

in the end i spoke to 5 differnt 'managers', which took me 20 minutes to get hold of, whihc in the end was another indian $£!% head, who could barely speak english.

im moving soon, and if they dont sort my line out a week before im there im not even going to threaten them anymore im switching company. im asking for tht stupid code, and then go to Pipex orso.

they can over me all they want, i wont do it.

unless they give me the whole company lol then i'll sort those fu£$%kers out.

sell the company lol:D

Well, for a start I wouldn't recommend Pipex. Apparently, they're just as bad as BT.

Now on to your arguments. Your entire argument with BT is similar to mine. Except I didn't turn into a raving racist. The line tests are true though. Everytime I emailed or phoned them they insisted on telling me there was a fault in the line. And when they said it had been fixed I told them it wasn't. So they did another line test and told me there was a fault in the line again. I had this for 6 months until my mum signed up to another 12 month contract and everything (surprisingly) works fine again now. Joy. Contact your local citizens advice bureau if you're having unsolved problems that they don't help with. They will give you phone numbers for lots of companies that can help your case.

And we forgot to ask for the free Zonda Roadster code
