Okay tenebra, I want to know if you can confirm this or not.
I'm hoping you can tell us for sure that it's not true.
Someone posted on the American forums a link to Gamestop. It now says that TDU is scheduled for pre-release on March 20th, meaning it would be available March 21st...this means it would be about a 1 month delay.
Is this information correct? I hope you say it's not, but I'm not gonna be surprised if it is true.

Actually, I registered just for this subject. I've been waiting for a long time, and I pre-ordered the game thinking that it will be released Feb. 16th. Then some places say release date is 16th Feb, some say March. rolleyesa It would be appreciated if someone could confirm whether there will be a delay.

Well I was talking to my local retailer yesterday and he said they had heard nothing of a delay and the release date THEY have is still the 16th, but that info was just from him nothing official

And upon just checking the Game web site the date is now saying 2nd March so it looks like it has I just hope they are using the extra time to sort out the performance issues

I can't believe they delayed it again! OMG! I fully paid for the PS2 version on September 10. It was going to release on October 19. Then they delayed it to November 15. Then they delayed it to February 16. Now they delayed it to March 20. What's happening? I'm not gonna be surprised if they delay it to May. It's possible from Atari.
Its better that they delay it and get it right, rather than rush it out....... :respect:

gameplay.co.uk are showing the pc and ps2 release dates as 2nd march 2007 and their release dates are usually spot on.theyve never let me down yet so i would expect to see it on sale then
ive seen the ps2 version running and it looks awful.. the draw distance is a big problem when driving fast ,with cars and scenery just popping up out of nowhere :nono:

As some have said, I'd rather play a quality Atari-finalised game one month later, rather than rush into a less enjoyable game sooner.

If you guys are are saying that the PS2 version isn't good yet, then I will wait. It will probably be worth it. I would buy the 360, but I already bought a PS3 so I'm broke. I'll wait in the summer and get it.
I must say that I don't see a reason for delaying Pc version. Open beta is here, it looks great and I think that time remaining until (still official) release date is enough for fine tuning.

Ok So they should release it now and include all the Bug's yet to be found by the Testers?...even if all the bugs are found i doubt alot of the testers will report them....after all its only a "DEMO" to them
Not now, but 2-3 weeks from now.
Don't forget that release date was moved from September to November and then to February. XBox version which is very similar to PC version is running for 4 months now.

Ok this is weird, the beta feels like a beta yes. but the game works and there are not alot of Huge bugs. The things that dont work right probably should be fixed quite fast.

Ya, I've found 2 bugs in the whole game that really bother me, other than that, it's pretty pristine, a lot better tahn other games I've played like CSS and the Battlefield series they are all buggy...especially battlefield series, although it's a great series. I'm glad that they're working on making this game bugless though, not many would do that, I just can't wait for it to be released...I'm reallly wanting to be able to play it knowing I won't lose my info (cuz after beta is over we'll lose our progress).

But the 360 version is running on XBox 360's............which are all the same... :)
No two PC's are the same and thats why it will take longer to test.... :respect:
I looked at Gamesmarket.com.au and the release date for Australia seemed to be April 13 now.
Maybe finally some 'Live For Speed-ish' gameplay. I didn't really liked the gameplay - with steering wheel - in the Beta, but that's my opinion. :noooo:
But I doubt it will change.. the icey-feel on the road will probably stay... The cockpitcam in LFS was even better (more in control), but heck that's one hell of a game. Maybe TDU2?

I received a mail from Atari saying that TDU will hit the Shelves in the UK on friday 2nd March 2007.

Germany 1/3

Live For Speed is a sim, probably the best around. TDU is a arcade racer without tracks and circuits, but with a whole Island of Hawai. I suggest you just obtain both and play them were they are made for, that's what I will, I love both of them.
To the release data, 2nd of March isn't that bad, the game just left the beta stadium. It will take a little to fix the remaining bugs and give it a gold status. As long as it hasn't gone gold, the disks won't be pressed.
Live For Speed is a sim, probably the best around.

Well....about the delay of the PC version....its not true that there is no reason to delay it.
TDU Beta was here, I played it for 3 days, and it was full of bugs...I dont mean just some stupid things like "One tree in the forest is 2 cm below the ground"...I mean major bugs like hardware compatibility performance issues and sound problems. Some wheels was not usable with TDU Beta, some grapic cards had big problems with the game (artefacts, extremly low FPS etc.)
This few things are just details when we compare to the work wich has been done on this greeat game, but if they released it as it is the game would be UNPLAYABLE for a lot of people...I dont say ALL....someone had never a problem with TDU Beta (one of my friends), someone had 2 FPS sometimes...sometimes it was 30...(I have 7600GT) and my Microsoft wheel was just not usable in the Beta...so I played it on keybord, and I can say its a great game but its just not finished. I have been waiting for one year for it, and now when I am just a step from the end, I would rather wait another month and then play a GREAAT game than play it now with tthese bugs...so actually not to play it....so I say:
A LITTLE DELAY IS THE BEST THEY CAN DO! :respect:
About sims...GTR 2 is great game but it is not so extremly real :) tonguegre
Liveforspeed has very good engine and physics...but some licence for cars and tracks and space for modding is really necessary...you just dont have any official tracks there and thats a shame I think
The best game in my opinion is GT Legends with old cars from 60´s...and rFactor is also very good....you have a lot of mods for rF: cars, tracks to downloads than its great :)

About TDU...the physics is not SO excellent as in sims above...but it is really good I think. The "middle way" between SIM and an ARCADE. But its really not an arcade....the game engine is calculating many things when you drive. Suspension, Antirollbars etc. It just seems "beliveable" and naturaly...cars act like cars...not like boats (yes yeas I mean NFS :laugh: )
So I think that TDU is a great game. You just buy a dream car and drive through the beautiful island. When they fix the bugs, I will buy it and drive and race and drive...

If you click on PS2 or PSP and then back to PC then you will see that its PC release date not PS2 or PSP.

I think the game won't be released so fast. I do hope that if it will be they have fixed all the bugs. But I seriously doubt that they did. There were just to much bugs in the open beta. It is better that they get rid of all the bugs and then release a very good game. I also want to play TDU very badly, especially becuse I get a new 7600GT. But I woul reather wait another month than to play a to much bugy game.

No argument, I have the truth....
If you try an order from amazon they inform you of a 1 to 2 week delay before despatching order. No one as of ths moment has any stock anywhere. Coincidently, 2 weeks from today is??? 02/03/07 the official release date. Those that are saying the 16th are taking advantage of the ability to pre-order and then delay by up to a certain time in case of late release. They are betting on the outcome of the 2nd March in order to get your order and beat everyone else to it.

Having just prepaid yesterday at EB Games here in Canada, I was told the game will be released here(subject to change) on March 21/07
