hello everyone
I left the forums a while back, because frankly...it wasn't a pleasent comunity. Some features of the game weren't working, alot of stuff that was promised wasn't being done, so people complained...
I've continued to play the game, and i've continued to check back on these furoms to see how things are. Alots happened since then. people have been banned, even read about a person being fired. The game is still buggy, and i think...... yea things seem the same as when i left.
But i'm not here to talk about the community, i'm here to talk about the game itself.
I've played the PC open beta. After a while of playing, i said 'my god...its exactly the same as the xbox, copied bugs and all'.. infact its worse. I was wondering what is wrong with the 360 version and i went to check it out in this pc beta. and the same cars that the dashboards don't work, again don't work here in pc version. I was under the impression that they were doing all this work. Its just a direct port.
The imediate and obvious reply to this is, ITs a beta..... expect that in it. but.. its the same as 360... does that mean the 360 is in a beta stage too?

being bored of it, and having no other game to play, i restarted it, started new. only this time, i make rules for myself. like i can only upgrade to level 2, traction control must be off all the time. To make it more of a challenge. I was surprised to find it was alot easier, and i completed it quicker. The races that i was stuck at the 1st time round ie. that one that starts at the radio tower and you need to use a maserati. It was awful and took me loads of goes, but this time. I done it on the 2nd or 3rd go..no sweat.
It make me think, .. have they made this easier?
O...and while discovering all the roads, i kept on loosing progress here, it happened 4 times. I lost entire chunks of the map, and had to redo it. Also, being traction control off. its really hard in multiplayer. Anyone who plays it enough knows the setting for the race doesn't work, it means nothing. which means i race people that have it on. very hard.
Its been out for a while now, and alot of the probs that i was stating back then.. are still in it now. lol
Also the same thing is being asked for..... please be patient ..we're working hard.
Playing the pc demo, the work hasn't gone there. its just a port. On the dlc's we're ment to get them every month, i think we're still owed one from what was said by the advertising (the 1st month they were ment to start it, they never), also january's dlc, and i read on here, that hardcore mode is coming in january. Photo mode is a dead hope, etrade is buggy, people still loosing progress, dashboards arn't fixed, FFb isn't supported
It makes me think, what actually has been done in all these months? where has the work went?
I read they are busy recovering lost work, and stuff like that, its a priority. Are you teling us, these big companys don't have the resources to cope? they have to set everything aside to work on a few things. I get the impression there are only 5 people working on everything, so they have to put it in a que.
I know theres a 3rd update on the way.. sometime. It might have something in it. but i'm not holding my breath.
One thing i have learnt over this game and these forums.
this game IS NOT a realistic driving game, or the best ever.
poeple might be takin in by the videos and the ads, and have high expectations on this game. I think thats what happened me, then when i was complaining asking, about this and that. A hard backlash on here. For anyone who doesn't have the game, read this. Its not the best driving game, theres alot wrong with it, the detail could be far far far better. It could also do with a higher setting of anisotropic filter, alot of times the road blends into the surrounding and you can't see it. then again sometimes the map just disapears..STILL. I think this game tried to be something its not and with too many unfinished areas in the game. Be warned....its only another test drive game. Some cars stats are wrong. cars that don't have traction control in real life, seem to have it in this game.

If you take it with the context of the previous games, then its a good game, and the best test drive ever. the past test drives havn't been the best, they've just been abit of fun. so thinking about it like that.. its a very good game.
I will not be buying the PC version, based on the PC demo and the support experience on 360
All this sounds like taking digs at the game, so i'll try end on a few good points.
I'm still playing the game and enjoying it. even if its because i've nothing else to play atm. Best addition cars for be have been the 911 turbo. which confused me when it came out. I thought the gt3 is faster than the 911 turbo, but in this game its the other way around. I find it fun to be on manual gears, and in a car with a turbo. cornering and making sure i'm always in the turbo :) ya can beat cars above your group. I always use in car view. its a good test drive game. when you can get connected to net and pay all the bills and connet to the tdu servers, its alot more fun than. it can be fun listening to the amercians... being amazed at everything they do in the game.
