i dnt know much but basically

driving more realistic

champion level and up only

no single player missions

i think thier the main 3 advantages. it sounds gd because anyone on it needs to be vvery skilled and i imagine people will actually use cars slower than the saleen lol. i would have people racin me in my vantage s (my newest car to drive and reace in) and i wold have the chance of real competition rather than sum noob with a saleen and driving aid to race

probably some pr0n hidden somewhere that can be activated by finding secret letters hidden on mountaintops. at least that would explain why it needs 7gb of space on the hdd.

to My Knowledge this is only Available to Those Who Download The Xmas DLC for the Xbox 360

Its Makes The Cars Characteristics more realistic with understeer/oversteer and Airtime Over JumpsPeople will have an "H" Displayed Beside Their Gamertag to let people know they are in Hardcore Mode and is Only available to People @ Champion rank or Above.

You Can Also Have a Car Displayed on the Screen To show which tyres are loosing traction...and I think suspension Stress...but i dont exactly know

Notice on the interface, how some tyres are a considerable amount thinner than others, I reckon that will be to show how much contact they have with the road, thoughts?

yup i think your spot on in a way, but i also reckon its to do with weight distribution. if you notice how the car is leaning ,all the weight would be on the left side ,especially the left front ....thus the tyres on right would have less contact with the road :atari:

It's **** having it only on champion of higher. What if I wanted to redo the game from the start with the Hardcore settings on?

Not a very well thought out update in my opinion...

Think again eden/atari, and hire better game designers who know about games.. haha

The hardcore mode won't feature an offline career. Nor wil the hardcore mode be IN the normal game. As you can spot on the screendumps above in this topic it will be a seperate mode next to the career mode.

No idea how they are going to implement the cars here....... can you use all cars or can you just use the cars you own in career?

Hopefully it will go some way to justifying the existence of the wireless racing wheel and it'll be one up for Atari if they pull it off before Forza2 comes out. The handling with the wheel at the moment is quite simply horrid to put it politely.

I seem to remember it being said that Hardcore will come with Update #3. However it will only be available to those who downloaded the Xmas DLC pack. So the actual data might've been in the Xmas DLC, and the Update #3 will activate it.

Well Since Forza 2 has now been Pushed back to May i cant see it taking another 4 months for them to get Hardcore Mode working....well i hope not at least tonguegre

I mean.... if they manage to actually pull it off in that it offers a rewarding driving experience with the wheel. Having said that there is no guarantee that Forza2 will be any good with it either! it might just be that the wheel is basically a bag of spanners.

I can assure you it is not... Ive used it extensivly in TDU, and ive played around with it in PGR3... any complaint i had was rectified by a quick jaunt in PGR3 with full FF... i can only imagine forza will be better, and i can only hope TDU will be good. A POS it is not. The FF is much firmer and more direct that the DFP was in GT4, even if it doesnt have 900 degrees and the bomb-proof feel of the DFP.

I'm equally as unimpressed with PGR as well, certainly compared with PC games played with a decent wheel: such as GTR, GT Legends and even older titles like Nascar 2004 and TOCA3. It's obvious that the root of the problem is that the handling models are primarily suited to being played with a joypad with wheel support being forced through as an afterthought. That's just my opinion anyway and if you're happy with it then that's all good in that you don't feel you've wasted your cash.

My son insisted on getting this wheel for his birthday and he's also bitterly disappointed with it overall, up to now anyway.

Sebringmgb
31-01-2007, 03:05
Im actually talking about the hardware itself... i do agree that all the supported games (save for TDU, as i havent used the FF in it yet obviously) are garbage. Despite wheel itself performing well in PGR3, PGR 3 still has trashy driving dynamics, which adversly effect the feel of the wheel. Im sure as soon as a game which properly utilizes the FF funtions on the wheel is released, youll change your mind.... but dont be surprised if it is much harder to drive... when you use the analogue stick, a lot of digital compensation is going on behind the scenes, most of which you become responsible for when you use the wheel.
