360 multiplayer race question...

Been doing some online racing against other people today, but was a bit confused when quite a few times as the race is about to start and it counts down from 3..2...1.. go that some people were off in the distance and racing before the countdown had finished leaving me and some others a few seconds behind and pretty much unable to catch up.

Now is this a glitch, 'cheat', lag or something else, I'm not asking how to do it just it was annoying after a while.

well, im glad that has not happened to me. what im thinking is what car were they driving? if it was the same car as you i would have to say lag, but i don't know its just a guess.

its Just Lag.....it doesnt matter where you come in the race...whoever has the fastest Time Wins

LOL! I just got a great memory spring to my mind, so i'll tell you what it is...

This happened to me once.
The person I was racing against pulled off the line when my game started saying 3...2...1...GO!
He had finished before I started. He was laughing at me saying how rubbish I was (it was a 13 yr old american in a dodge viper).
I then started in my RT12, I thought to myself... stupid lag, I will never win now!
I finished...
The kid got really angry...
I didnt know why...


It turns out I beat him by 20secs!! Boy he was mad! :nuts:
I just laughed at him! rolleyesa mdr1 :laugh:
